Ok well basically this just happend yesterday out of no where...
I'm driving and accelerating, my exhaust is pretty loud cause I have an open downpipe and I have alot of vibrations so I probably just feel it or it just stops moving but I don't notice it. I take my foot off the gas and I hear a clicking noise and I can feel it by my feet. My initial thought was my rims weren't on tight enough so I pulled over and checked them and they were fine...didn't move and the lugnuts were in there nice and tight.
Just to get a 2nd opinion, I took my car to a shop and they put my car on a lift. They said the bearings and everything was fine. Their conclusion was that it was my strut, somewhere by the top of the strut it had a little play and that it could cause for the clicking noise to happen. As far as the feeling it by my feet, he was saying that it could be hitting other parts that send vibrations so I could feel it by my feet.
Does this sound logical? Just looking for other opinions...
Also to mention, when I press the brake the sound completely stops and no clicking.

It sounds like the wheel being loose, but you said you checked that, so... They checked the bearings, did they check the CV joint/shaft too? I'm not sure about the strut thing. I had a problem on the Laser where I launched from a stand still when I stood on the gas or kept the brakes applied, the noise would all but completely go away, and it seemed like it was a wheel. I checked everything. Wheels, wheel bearings, but turned out the CV joint was fried.

Do you have the spacers on those AGX struts?

look at the cv boots and see if any of them are torn. in the summer time i had a problem w/ my car like that and i could feel a vibration in the pedal.
how much flex was allowed in your turbo piping ??
maybe something for 1 of the pipes came loose , and is causing it

But how would that explain the noise stopping when brake is applied?

AGXs should have a spacer (washer) between the top of the mount and the strut nut when used on 00+ mounts.
check you rear brakes, they could have ovalized and the feeling you describe is pretty much the same thing mine did
The Verdict was that the lugnuts WERE too loose.

Umm funny story...
I came to that conclusion when my wheel DID come off on me on the highway! I could have died but luckily it got stuck under my fender and ABS helped me stop.
Thank You Goodyear for double checking the lugnuts...retards!

She's...ok
Luckily the sound was getting unbearable and louder and I had started to slow down. All of a sudden, BOOM! and my driverside drops down on me. Luckily I was in the 2nd lane so it was easy for me to cross one lane for an emergency. I don't even think I looked at the lane next to me, I just wanted to stop! lol
The part that pissed me off is that we could have gotten seriously hurt because this was a morning highway crowd and everyone is so eager to get to work and could have just ran right into me. It was me, my son's mother and my SON in the car! @!#$ Goodyear right about now.

You call them say F_CK YOU???

Wait a sec....if they checked the bearing, wouldn't they have to take the wheel off? Retards, none the less.
Sam
Ban low-performance cars, not high-performance ones.
^^^Not nessacarily. You can jack the car up in the air and with the wheel still on the car you can check for a bad bearing.

Dennis Rolston wrote:yikes...sorry that happened....Its happened to a few people I know. Thank goodness you kept it in control and got off the road safely. I would have suggested lugs but you said they were tight...same symptons on my car...another person just posted a similar problem like this.
Are the wheels new? Or did you just have them off recently. Bottom line is no one is hurt, and from your misfortune a few people learned what loose lug nuts sound like and how important it is to double check them.
The tires aren't new but the wheels were taken off recently during my turbo installation and I drove back to NJ fine, no noise or anything so I guess it took them a while to get loose.
It sucks it had to happen when my son was in the car also cause I'd hate to see him get hurt over stupid lugnuts. I thought they were tight but that is also why I wanted the shop to check them out.
