I would like to hear any opinions on these stabilizer bar set ups.
Eibach: 26mm-F / 22mm-R
Addco: 25.4mm-F/ 25.4mm-R
Mantaparts: 26mm-F / 26mm-R
My & GM's own FE2: 22mm-F / But with a 22mm-R
What I am looking is more control, less body roll, with a neutral feel--"point and shoot" feel.
Also in your opinion, how was your install of these bars?
Thanks

I"m on 22F/22R right now. But that's with the IRS set, and the rear 22 has less runout than your 22 rear. So I have oversteer. I'm looking to switch up to a 25 or 26mm front. Even it all out.
ive got the 18mm front with the eibach rear on my 00 , and im happy with it , but then ive got 225/45/17 azenis sports , so the stiff sidewalls help alot
on my g/fs cav it has the stock FE2 rear bar , and the full eibach kit installed , and stock rsa's , and the bars will push the tires very quick , but the car is pretty stable , unless your trying a freeway interchange with high speed , lol
i think the eibach kit with the FE2 stock rear bar is a very nice set up
if you have the FE0 or FE1 then id say to use a 1" rear bar , along with the 1" front
alot has to do with your tires also
I have Addco's 1" bars. They balence the car nicely. I did install them after my Tein type Basics and strut tower bars were installed. They also work nicely with the Tein Super Streets I currently have installed.
^^^ Thats the exact setup that I want, i'm almost there, i've got everything except the TEIN's.
I have the addco front and rear, i love em.
Leave the stock 22mm front. Put an Addco on the rear for neutral steering.
I had understeer with both Addco's on the car (thus the addition of a rear tie bar).
I have an addco in the rear and stock up front, I love how my car handles.

i dont mean to thread jack and i apologize for doing so but do all 03+ have the FE2 bar up front...i am wondering cuz i have the base of all base 03 cavaliers and was wondering if it had a bar at all? Again the only option i have is A/C so i which suspension do i have? Thanks again and sorry for thread jacking
Take a look see at your lower control arm. Do you see a black metal bar thats L spaped with ugly runner pillows on a bolt ?
I have stock front sway bar with upgraded bushing and ADDCO rear sway bar and it handles really well.

Be sure to get input on other factors, like tires, springs & dampers in use with the sways. Looks like a few have already included those details for ya'.
I used two distinct setups on my 3rd gens.
First was a '96Z with Intrax, Koni Specials, GM front strut bar, stock RS-A tires, 7/8" Hellwig rear sway, stock front sway, and a Control FX rear tie bar. This setup gave a strong feel toward understeer, which I enjoyed a lot, actually, for street driving.
The second was a '01Z with Sportlines, Koni Sports, GM front strut bar, 1" addco rear sway, stock front sway, and 225/45/17 Yoko ES100s. The ride on this was more toward neutral than the '96. I loved it for the first six months or so, then it got boring and annoying. Then the steering went to crap and I sold the car.
Given the choice of mix 'n' match from the two cars, I'd go for the Intrax/Koni reds and Hellwig rear sway and better tires, but that's just me.
Wish Tein had offered full coils when I had a 3rd gen! I'm a bit jealous of Cherub.
Have you seen the turbo wagon?
13.90 @ 105.46mph
street tires
rough tune
I have the Addco set up, i have nothing but good to say about them.
my current set up is:
Freedom strut bars front and rear
Koni Yellows
Eibach Pro-Kit
Koenig Holes 16' with Hancook Ventus HRII's 225/50/16
Addco front and rear 1" sway bars
sub frame brace 6061 aluminum 2x3 square tube ( very thick walls )
the car is tight and quite aggressive, even if I'm not that fast
i have the stock GM 24mm front bar with ES D-bushings and endlinks and the addco rear 25.4mm bar. the car pushes only in loose/slick(sealed asphalt) surfaces but in grippy lots it is almost perfect
i can balance the car with the struts and tire pressures. the car is changes direction pretty dang good. i can almost flat foot slaloms and Chicago boxes
see ya!

Falken Circuit Spec (gun Metal)
Falken Ziex Ze 512 tires
Addco front and rear 1" sway bar

LOL, that pic is over 6 months old, Alot more then just a strut bar has changed.
Full suspension details:
16" Sunfire GT wheels w/ Yokohama YK420 tires
Addco 1" front and rear sway bars
Tein Super Sport dampers w/ pillowball upper mounts
GM front strut tower bar
Vibrant rear strut tower bar
Like I said above I'm very happy with the Addco bars.
I have the Eibach sway bars. Boy what a difference!!! My car feels point and shoot as you would say. The car feels like it's on a rail. I'm not even lowered yet. My Koni struts and springs are going on in May.
I appriciate all the opinions people! And still, I am all open ears on it.
Hmm as of now I am leaning on the Eibach.
Still though... no one use Mantaparts' bars?

you can order and get them? lol heard people can't get stuff delivered.
05 Cav
Tein Basics
Freedom Design Front Strut Bar
RKSport Rear Strut Bar
225/40/18
Factory Front Sway w/ Poly Bushings
Progress 22mm Rear
Almost exactly neutral, love how it takes corners.
Mr.Goodwrench-G.T. wrote:Hmm as of now I am leaning on the Eibach.
That would be a huge MISTAKE in my opinion. The eibach set has like a 25mm front and 22mm rear which isn't going to bring you all the way back to neutral like you want. Like I said earlier, if you want neutral, install an addco 1" rear bar and leave the front 22mm bar there.
As far as mantapart's bars, I've never heard of any feedback on them. Mantapart is unreliable at best. Most likely you will give them money and never see any kind of parts for 6 months.
Here's my current setup(since everyone else seems to be posting their's):
Factory front strut bar and FD rear strut bar
Addco 1" front and rear sway bars
Rear tie bar
KYB AGX's
H&R Springs
MCMoney's camber plates (set to -1.5deg)
Poly Control Arm bushings
What about for the 95-99 base models, that don't even have sway bars? I have Pro-kit spings and Koni Reds. I want to go with a full sway kit some time soon, the Eibach and Addco kits are evenly priced. What would be a better setup for a neutral drive?
