PLEASE help, im undecided i have the money i just recently bought new rims, getting car repainted. And now trying to decide on Air, i know alot of you guys seen my posts thanx for helping.
Now only thing im worried about is breaking my kit, or a leak and causing the car to sit on the side of the road. Or the car sitting with a leak, that i can't fix at the moment.
IS there anyway i can have it so it will NEVER go any lower then say a 1/4" off the ground?
Just give me all pros/cons for the easystreet. I need to decide on it SOON!
Thanx
Jon
I forgot to mention im sitting on goldlines and Koni reds at the moment i would be selling them if i get air. But my luck the air would crap out on me..
Just remember to buy a quality air ride kit and you won't have as much problems...I believe the most prefered is Easystreets Air Ride kit.

i love mine. RUN THE LINES INSIDE THE CAR!!! i have done dragged many holes into one of my lines.
not to jack the thread, but how much of a wheel gap is there when the car is up? meaning when you hit the switch to raise it, does it have a stock wheel gap or.....?
also how long does it take for the car to lift and rise?
thanks.
i'm baaaaack!!
im in the process of getting air too.
-from my understanding all the way up is USUALLY just a bit lower then the stock 4x4 height
-i talked with jason A+ and he said about half the ones he sells air to, get an extra compressor. 2 reasons: it fills a bit faster and in the case one goes out you have another one working. for around $10ish you can upgrade to the 8.5 tank.
- wont hurt to get an extra 10ft of 1/2 inch air hose, about $10ish. it comes with 40ft and most will be used running to the front of the car.
if you get the digital pilot (i thank thats the name)upgrade then you have presets for all the stances. when you slam it all the way it will stop at the PSI you want it to and when you raise it all the way it will stop at the point you set. recommendations are leave a little air in there when slamming it and leave room for raise it all the way as to not top it out fully. with the digital upgrade it will raise to the stance you set once you start your car(can be turned off) sounds cool. it gives you 3 presets: slamed / drive height / raised at one push of a button. then you have an inflate/deflate for each bag. it has a digitial read out so you can see the pressure in the bags. also it tells you if it detects a leak and will continue to send air to the bag to keep it at the pressure you set it to. ONLY down draw is its in the car and not a box you hold outside the car. im sure theres a way to do it though.
if im wrong on anything im sure the org will correct me or add more info.
about everyone that has air is happy with it and wouldnt go back, though im sure
theres a couple out there that would disagree.

info from the g/p to help you out.
The autopilot is the most advanced system on today's market. Get accurate, instant control over your air suspension with our new Auto Pilot Digital control system. Features that have never been available in a digital controller come standard with this incredible, compact unit. Features such as:
One touch ride height
Allows you to return to your ride programmed ride height without tapping switched and watching gauges. Whether your below, or above your height, just tough one button to return to your aligned height, and prevent tire wear.
Auto ride height on start.
Will lift your vehicle to the programmed ride height with the start of the engine. This feature can be turned off, this is not available in some competitive products.
Individual wheel control
Allows you to adjust each wheel separately. Also known as Front back side to side control.
All inflate and deflate buttons
Also known as pancake control. Give you 4 wheel height control up and down with one switch.
Accurate Manifold Mounted Transducers.
The most accurate pressure sensors come pre-mounted to the valves. This eliminates the risk of leaks, and makes for an easier install.
Digital Volt Meter
Reads the vehicles voltage to help prolong equipment and battery life.
Auto leak Detection
Will monitor all 4 corners, if a leak occurs, the system will automatically add air accordingly and warn you of a problem.
Tuning Feature
Teaches the system the exact requirements to lift each wheel. Ensures that the auto ride height function is perfect every time.
Only one wire to dash
Only one wire needs to run to the dash of the vehicle. No more running airlines, power lines. And wiring every switch independently. One wire does it all.
if you are unsure about the install have someone do it for you that does install air ride all day long
i personally like using air ride tech compressor systems, the easiest to hook up, and a great product
if you do it your self take your time run the air lines inside the car wires inside the car
use a good sealent on the fittings
if not have someone do it for ya

ok i have easystreet.. and i love it, ok if ur a daily drive its ok for a while, but a beater might be something to consider, i love the ride its not bad at all, but i do have a 35 series tire so eh. but it will leak out over time. i put stopppers on mine so when it does the kit wont be smashed into the ground, lets just say ive broken a kit before, but the guys at indy bash had a sign that said drag it so i did.... ripped off side skirt.ha. and drug rear around.. anyways, just put stoppers under the frame and ur fine, thats what i did, and dont slam ur car off the ground, i do drive mine low, and no wheel gap! but get a ride hieght on it and ur fine im about 40 psi to each bag and its nice... anyways here a pic ...
and if u got drift side skirts, those are what i dragged off of my car..haha

I was looking at the digital system, and it seems really confusing. Mabye its just me.
But can i put spacers in so i dont go lower then what i want to? Where cna they be bought?
thanx
well you have to realize that with a kit and wheels you may run into problems w/ the tires actually hitting either the side skirt or the fender lip before you let all the air out so saying that you want to try and stop the car 1/4" from the ground might not work. i know my car w/ my trd sides when i let all the air out of my rears, the tire pushes on the back of the side skirts.
as for getting a leak or anything, its really not that bad. only 1 time have i ever got stranded cuz of my air ride and even then i wasnt really stranded, i just had to take it apart and remove the dump valve (valve was sticking open) and just run 1 valve for my front passenger side. if you buy quality metal fittings then there really isnt much you have to worry about except maybe some valves getting stuck which is caused if something gets stuck in the system then it gets on the seal for the valve, or if you let the water build up in your tank, in the winter it could freeze your valves.
as for the air lines, i run all mine outside of the car and never had a problem. i have mine zip tied along the rails all the way down and theres no way its gonna drag on the ground.
does the digital system replace the switch box completely?? im kinda thinkin bout doin it
just wondering how the ride is on an air suspension? i was thinkin about going with the easy street kit as well but i do drive my car daily so dont want a really rough ride.
Eazy Ent. ( 716 ) wrote:does the digital system replace the switch box completely?? im kinda thinkin bout doin it
yes its wired up completely w/ 5 sender units. 1 for each corner and 1 for tank pressure and basically its got the buttons on the left for the front and on the right for the 3 then the 3 below for all up, all down and ride height. just like the picture posted above. i would like that but i enjoy my switch box w/ my different options of switches
on lowering it you can preset the lowest stance so you hit slam it and will stop at the set pressure. unless you do each bag seaprate. but the 3 presets you just hit and will stop at the point you set it to, thats why im going with the digitial upgrade. though id like to have the switches outside to play with the digilial fits me better.
to answer your question 19 sunfire99 it kinda reminds me of being on a lowering spring
but with better handling i think
i thought about that digital unit but i prefer dakota digital if you have the money you should check them out

you guys all seem concerned about air and how it will effect your life and your car. Air ride has been used for years in the truckin industry with great success, most caddys have been on air for a few years as well, the ride is much more pleasant on air than any lowering spring strut combo.
As for reliablity, there are a few things you can do to help keep your system working and yourself from being stranded,
1st things first RUN CHECK VALVES, the valves that are used in most air ride kits are a diaphram style valve which requires pressure on both sides of the valve to remain closed, if pressure drops from one side or the other the valve will open to equilize the pressure difference, if one bag starts leaking ALL will drop to compensate for lower pressure in the tank than in the bags, Check valves before the fill valve will keep the air in the bags and keep it from bleeding back into the tank.
2nd, carry spare parts, and extra valve some basic hand tools such as a couple good adjustable wrenches and screw drivers, and some extra air line and connectors in case you find yourself with a hole in a line you have a peice you can patch the hole with.
3rd and this is about the cheapest saftey measure, install shrader valves in your tank and if possible just past the fill valves on each line, shrader valves are the same thing thats in your car tires, lets say your compressor(s) crap out on you, you have 40 psi in your tank and your on the ground, if you have shrader valves you can fill your tank at a gas station air pump, likewise if your left front corner refuses to raise and its in the middle of the night you have the option of using a gas station air supply to raise the corner of the car till you get the chance to fix it.
and alot of places recommend NOT using teflon tape as you can easily over tighten the peices cracking the fittings, as well as the end of the tape can work its way into your valves and jam up the whole works, instead use something like blue loctite or a plumbing quality thread compound.
Air can be very reliable if installed correctly, as i said above the trucking industry uses air ride on every truck on the road today with great success, granted the systems in our cars are alittle different, but if its good enough for them isnt it good enough for us?

The 4 switch box that comes wiht the EAsystreet kit what does that allow you to do?
thanx
it only comes w/ 4 rocker switches, basically you wire it up to each corner
Most likely it's only each wheel per switch. 10-switch box gives more options (front, back, left side, right side, all up, pancake)

i have been on air ride for over 2 yrs now... driven from ohio to canada twice, ohio to st loius, and ohio to indy without a hitch....
i had a few problems when i first got it but it was because i was an idiot...
im definatly looking into getting the digital controller... equal pressure in each corner is a good thing... and almost impossible to do with mechanical guages and switches
