Please help me, I've been told that the KYB GR-2/Eibach Pro kit combo is good, but have been told it isn't. Despite this question I'll probably will go with the AGX struts. Just want some advice. Thanks
GR-2's are OEM replacement struts. They may last a little while when lowered, but I wouldnt put full confidence in it. In fact I had to replace two GR-2's off my car that blew. and I didnt have the money to buy anything better so I went with a set of Gabriel Ultras and we'll see how long they last.

what u can learn from Jbody2nr is u can do it twice and spend more than doing it right the first time

If you had not spent the money on the GR2's and the Gabriels, you would have had enough money for the AGX.

GR2's are for stock springs only, anything else, and they will blow. Go with the AGX, they are adjustable, and made for a drop. KYB recomends the prokit with their AGX struts.
Many people on the org here auto cross with the AGX and pro-kit and love it.
I have a prokit, and am waiting to order some AGX struts for it. I do not trust the GR2s I have on my car for a drop. (I have them with stock springs)
And although the GR-2's are under KYB's warranty, it's not worth it in the long run.

KYB's Warranty Dept wrote:The warranty is void if the product is used on excessively lowered (over 1.5") vehicles or in an aftermarket coilover suspension system....

KYB does not warrant its products against product abuse, improper installation, incorrect application and installation error.
So while under the warranty, it's technically abusing the damper, thereby voiding the warranty.

Actually I got the GR-2's for free. Which is probably why they blew. Used and abused then went the way of the dodo. I couldnt wait to save up for the AGX's this time. So while the gabriels are good Im gonna save my money so when they go, which they will, I can get them.

I have the GR2s with the sportline springs that no complaints... had them on for like a year and a half

I bought the GR-2's almost 2 years ago and put B&G 1.6" lowering springs on them. Not only does my car look better with the drop. But I have not had any trouble with them either. And the town I live in has really bad roads. I'll admit that the ride is probably not as good as AGX struts but I bought the GR-2's for $100 and got the B&G's for free from a friend. Never blown and had for almost 2 years.
My car has two speeds, fast and faster.
It still amazes me what claims people have. I bet if someone else rides in their car they may not think it ride great. I have been in cars that people think ride great and it really doesn't most have just gotten use to a crappy ride. I use to think my car rode great when i started to do suspension. Now i have a good set up.
I will never do another set up with out getting the proper struts.

go with the AGX... you don't want to risk having the GR-2's blow on you and then have it not be under warrantee, because as everyone else is saying, its cheaper to do it rite the first time than to have to do it 2 or 3 times the wrong way. any ride you get with the GR-2 will be doubled in greatness by the AGX.
