Air Ride Question
Thursday, March 23, 2006 6:53 AM
I didn't know where to put this question so I just put it here because it relates to air ride.

Anyways, my friend told me that if I want to drag (as in slam and drag) that I need to remove my gas tank and put in a fuel cell. Is this true?

Let me know plz,
Scott

i dont think thats tru. prolly the safest thing, but not necessary. you'll need to weld in some drag blocks or a hitch of some sort.

no but you will have to make sure that your tires clear everything so you can go that low (ie, dont rub on the fenders, the lips, side skirts, etc...)

Well I have 205/40/17 tires on motegi mr7s so I think they'll tuck quite nicely. My only worry with air is the exhaust hitting the rear (axle) when slammed. If they don't tuck without rubbing the lip, can I just cut or roll the lip on the rear wheelwell?

I had 205/40/17's and my tires scrub the inner tub in the back before it is all the way down.

Heres a pic of my exhaust where it goes over the rear axle. I know for a fact it's gonna hit when I dump it. Can anyone with aftermarket exhaust post pics of where it goes above their axle?

Eric altman - cant wait to see pics. Need them now lol

exhaust wont hit. I would suggest puttin a belly pan over the gas tank since its plastic they crack real easy if u hit a rock or something in the road when dragging.

my exhaust hit mine, but after i dropped it a few times it flattened the pipe so i didn't worry about it anymore.

yea i hear you i have to maybe start bolting them on but when the welder is sitting there it aint no big deal. i go through my blocks usually in a night if the camera is around but normally a week is what i get out of mine

If you got a welder sittin right there just start laying ad on the bottom of the blocks its work hardens the metal and then they dont grind as fast and throw more sparks
