KYB AGX Install

Does anyone know how hard it would be to install a set of AGX's on an 03 fire? I have the Eibach Prokit with stock shocks right now, and should probably upgrade to something like the AGX. I found a set of them for $350 shipped (which seems like a pretty good deal). I know that with some of the shocks/struts you can not just bolt them up without modding the tower. Are these direct bolt ons, and if so can this be done without a lift, or is a lift needed? Thanks in Advance

Direct bolt-on. No lift needed. Air/Power tools are highly recommended, but not necessary. Spring compressor is highly recommended, and a really good idea. A basic set of metric sockets and a crecent wrench will get you by.
An 800lb gorilla and 2 bunches of bananas would help too.

what CTS said basically

its just like installing a stock strut, you unbolt the old ones and remove, compress the spring, remove the spring, install on new struts and reinstall on the car.

air tools are a tremendous help, and a lift is nice, but neither are neccissary

its real easy to do, i installed them in my 03 in about 1.5 hours, not including beer breaks

yea have fun with the top nut on the strut shafts in the front, if you dont have air i recomend using a socket wrench, and a mallet, or hammer and hitting it again and again and again... but i HIGHLY recomend air

Spring compressors are recommended, but not really needed with the Pro-Kit

HA...how do you plan on getting the stock spring out....you have to consider your audience, on this website, kids will be yanking their strut assemblys and unbolting them and just like that some1 looses half of their face because you todl them they didnt need a spring compressor.

One can infer that the Pro-Kits are already installed, and it's time for a shock swap.

Since I have had my springs installed, I've disassembled the fronts... I think 6 times now (and need to do a 7th... stupid uneven drop.... ). The only time I had to use a spring compressor was when the stock spring was still installed. Every other time was with the Pro-Kit, and haven't had to use a spring compressor. There is just enough thread on the strut shaft to release the spring pressure before it comes off.
