Brakes and Rotors?
Saturday, April 15, 2006 11:10 AM
Alright guys my brakes that have been on my car for about a year now are crapping out because they got to warm and warped. I am wondering what are some good brake and rotor combinations. All I know is that I am definately wanting to go with drilled and slotted rotors and probably ceramic brake pads. What do you guys recommend. I am trying to stay under $200 as well. Thanks in advance! I am open to your opinions.

Some powerslots and hawks, I am not sure if you can get them for under $200.

Talk to Aaron at www.turbotechracing.com, he hooked me up on brakes, baer decela rotors, and some hawk pads, i beat the piss out of my brakes and these have tons of life left in them. Mine ran me 198 at the time, he is the man for parts.

Alright. Thanks for you help and I will look into those. I knew we had a brake forum but I just over-looked it. Thanks for the help.

i know aaron from turbo tech pretty well but you can get the same stuff for alot cheeper i got a brand new pair of Ractive crossdrilled slotted rotors for $75 i don't remember how much i spent on pads but i bought aset of ceramic pads for autozone and they weren't bad. I suggest calling Jason Schwartz owner of Hush Motorsports same stuff as aaron much cheeper

Hate to bust your bubble but ractive/toucan shut their doors a few months ago. There maybe some old items laying around but no more warrany work or new items.

We use to be able to get Ractive rotors much cheaper than $75 a set when they did make them, but they are really cheap quality rotors....

Ractive rotors = junk......

Power Slot or Power Stop are the way to go...... with Hawk or EBC green pads..... I'd stay away from drilled rotors.... but thats just me.
