O.k., I'm sure this will end up sounding very stupid, but I just got a rear tower bar for my 99 Z24 and when I went to install it, the holes didn't match up. I tried lining it up every direction I could think of, but nothing is working. Can someone give me some help? Or at least a good slap in the back of the head to make me realize what is going on? A picture would be nice too.
Thanks
lossen eveything on the back, the jam nuts and the pivot points for the end plates themselves then put it in. Bar goes straight acrost with the flat side of the end plates down. the open side of the half cilce end plates face the front of the vehicle. Once its in and mounted then tighten up everything.
I had the same problem even with everything loosened. I would put one side on and the bar would not be pointing straight across to the other strut tower but angled toward the rear of the trunk slightly. What I ended up doing is tweaking the two tabs that connect the plate to the bar on both sides. I also had to slot one hole on each side so the bolt would line up.
I have vibrant front and rear bars on both my 04's and neither one had a problem
Luck of the draw. I could make mine fit with the bar vertical, but it was flexing the s h i t out of it.
