So I was looking at the cost of a decent coilover setup and a "high performance" coilover setup (note the quotes) and I thought about airbags. How do they handle (body roll, bumps in the road, general ride) in comparison to a coilover setup?
some come close, but no set of air bags will handle like a mechanical suspension, atleast none made for the j-body as of yet.
axxis is the only company to make an air bag setup (for the wrx) that is track specific.
the bag kits for cavaliers, most are sturdy, ride generally good with some bounce on some kits....but as far as performance goes, if you want performance and plan to drive track hard, get a mechanical suspension with proper shocks and struts.
^Agreed. And don't forget many tracks wont allow bags.
my car rides great, doesnt bounce at all and is very smooth. body roll is very limited. i can still feel some when im going on on/off ramps on highways but nothing too much.
Don't know why but mine sometime ride stiff then sometime soft, and other time amazingly perfect. could be just the temp of the air in the dampener. Also depends on the ride hight.
