well I was searching and stuff but nothing available to help me with my problem..... I lowered my car last weekend and got a alingment right away too.... and everything was good... but the shop told me my alignment was maxxed out but within specs. but anyways when i was driving home from work i noticed if i kept the steering wheel straight it pulls to the left so i have to turn it slightly to the right to keep it going straight. So is there anything for like longer tie rods or something that i can do so i can could possibly get my steering problem fixed?
The Camber is maxed out. No problem. Up to 1.5 degrees is fine. Toe left is them messing up. Take it back and tell them what it's doing. They'll fix it.
they simply didnt center the steering wheel properly before adjusting the tie rods....
thats not a camber issue, if anything its a toe in or toe out, or misalignment of the steering wheel issue.
Same thing happened to me. What the shop did was only adjust ONE tie rod to get the toe correct, which is what threw off the steering wheel. Did they know the car was lowered? Lowering the car changes the tie rod angle (and subsequently the length in relation to the rack and pinion) to the knuckle causing the car to be either toed in or toed out. Both tie rod ends should be adjusted equally (assuming car was in alignment before lowering) since both sides are affected by lowering. If the wheel is pointed right when going straight then the right side tie rod needs to be lengthened and the left side tie rod shortened the same amount. I think I made one full turn on each tie rod and straightened my steering wheel.
Bottom line: take it back to the shop since you paid them for an alignment, the above was just to let you know what happened.
they prob just didnt center the wheel. mines the same way
So i should just take it back and say its messed up still?
You are confusing it with torque steer right? Run the test on a flat road,at 35-50 mph with out touching the accelerator (coasting) and your steeering wheel centered. If it pulls either side, then you need a re-alignment.
Claim that your steering is "off-centered" and tell them where your steering is leaning in order for you to go strait, the shop should go from there.
I'd give you specs, but every car is different. But if you want, what I can do is give you a "safe range" spec. But your shop SHOULD have those numbers.

yea still have this problem....... no its not torque steer its alingment and when i let go of the steering wheel it goes center so i think its just bad alingment..... I told them I needed a alingment cause i had it lowered. they even scraped my bumper cause they were in a rush to get it on the rack.
