i was wondering where i can get new axels and are there any taht are better for lowered cars
george polyak
they dont make axles for lowered cars.....
they make stronger axles for HIGH POWERED CARS, which are around 300-700$ a set. they are made more or less to take the shock of the power transfer from drag racing and getting on the gas.
however when you lower your car to the point that your cv joint is at an extreme angle, like alot of the people you see driving around with their car slammed, virtually no suspension travel.........then thats where stupidity meets reality.
axles should be kept parrallel, which on these cars are around 1.5 inches.... for the longest life and smoothest movement.
the lower you go the more you wear the cv joints. simple mechanics. kinda the same way we walk upright...
if we walked in a squatted position all day long, we would prematurely wear cartilidge in our joints in numerous places. being in a position something isnt supposed to be in, puts more stress to stuff.
replacement axles are around 60-80$ at local autoparts stores...
try here little expensive depending on your budget

yup those are the stronger axles, but they dont alow extreme axles of the cv joint itself. just basically strength so you dont snap em due to power.
