big brake kits, grand am?

wondering if the rotors and stuff on a grand am se 2.4 would be any bigger than ones on my 2000 sunfire 2.4. i thought somebody a while back used a grand am brake kit to make a big brake kit but not sure if it was a grand am for sure. i dont have the cash at the moment for a big brake kit but im warping my rotors from racing at the track and looking for a cheaper way of fixing that since i have a wrecked grand am sitting in my dads shop. thanks.

are you just using stock pads and rotors? if so try upgrading the pads and rotors for now until you can get a big brake kit. getting a bigger rotor isnt going to change anything

Bigger rotor = bigger pad = better braking.

not necessarily true. bigger rotor also=more rotating mass=higher moment of inertia which means that it is more difficult to slow the rotor down. It is best to use the smallest rotor possible that is capable of reaching the braking threshold of traction without fading. The more weight you have to start spinning in acceleration and stop spinning in braking, the more sluggish the car will feel. For most people a stock rotor will be plenty sufficient. First upgrade pads. Sorry to get off topic...I just wanted to inspire some thought before you spend a lot of time on something that may only disappoint you.
