Sport lines

Hey I just brought some D-specs and was about to get springs and thought about my camber and any other serious alignment issues. I want the sport lines. SO will a basic alignment be good for these they are 1.6F and 2.3R, or will I run into serious alignment issues?

once the install in done, go get it aligned and you'll be fine. our cars do not require a camber kit

alignment is no problem. just find a place that is capable of aligning a lowered vehicle. toe is all that should change when you lower it

dspecs arent new and have been out for a while, they are about the same as konis but they are easier to install

OK thanx I was just wondering. I brought them anyway though. If toe is the only thing affected by a drop then why do you need a camber kit if you go too low. Like my friend is drop 3" and he had to get a camber kit to adjust his camber .

Ohh I was just asking for knowledge reasons. I ordered my dspecs and sportlines they'll be here next week. I'm not a suspension guru, so Im just wondering but why dont our cars get +/-camber. What do they have that corrects it when you drop?

I got the Sport-line and Mine is 1.7F & 2.3R And I had to have a Camber kit..... it was $250 to align the car & have them Installed....I went to this Garage that put them on and they said it was aligned and then I got new tires and after 2 months I checked my tires and they where wearing from the inside and I was mad....and I had the put my old LS Sport Factory Rims back on and take it to another garage, And they told me that I should of had a Camber kit on here.....So I got cambers on the front and Shims on the back because there drums......Just letting you guys know that... I here in Cavalier's that if you lower after 1.5" you need a camber kit and shims on the back....Trust me I had all my cavaliers lowered and I took them all to different garage's and they all say the same.....I had 3 cavalier's and one I sold but I still got 2 LS Sport cav's that are lowered and they where all the same price at different garage's....

Exactly thats what I thought but then how are guys on here that have these springs saying they didnt need a camber kit. They make them for our cars so i know at some point we do need a kit, I was just wondering when that point was? How did you know how much -camber you had and how much +camber to add to it or did the shop do that. The kits arent that expensive so I would like to do it myself as I helped my buddy w/ his civic. but someone told him how much he needed so i set it at that.

OK I just did some poking around and what I have concluded (please correct me if Im wrong b/c I'm buying some nice tires and I dont want them to wear uneven) is that the stock setup can be adjusted by the alignment guy when I get alignment, if Im droped up to 2.5"....correct? But , I've also seen posts of people saying they have the sport lines and the uneven tire wear from negative camber but its the same guys on every post that someone post about camber saying that you dont need a camber kit...not trying to knock anyone but every thread I've read is inconclusive if someone can shine light on this that would be great and if not I'll find out next week when I go to get my alignment I just want to know if I need the kit so I can go ahead and oeder it before my setup gets here. thanx guys.

from the FAQ wrote: 10) ALIGNMENTS

after you do any change, def look into an alignment. theres no chart on how soon you will need it afterwards, but try to do so within a week. wearing your tires down cause you were too lazy...well its not smart , but to each their own. alignments in the US of A cost about 40-60$, maybe 70 at some shops...

some things you should know when getting an alignment

1) YOU DO NOT NEED CAMBER BOLTS!!!!! camber isnt changed much. so no matter what your friends and shops who drive imports say, its not needed. not unless you go extreme at like 3.5+ inches, but if you go that level, then CV joints will wear quick and you'll most likely blow struts riding around... so you might as well buy camber bolts, cause on reg suspension you'll be paying more in due time... but if its something regular lowering, you do not need em.

2) You shouldnt have to supply specs as the place should already have em

and

3) if a shop says they cant align a lowered car...leave... right then and there is a line of pure BS. i'd rather hear saddam say he sympathizes with the US and the world on national TV.

Q: what should you say the the shop in your defense as to why and how it can be aligned right?

A: "the cars dont really have a large degree of camber, as long as its able to get it on the lift, you should have no problem getting it to stock specs"

the majority of us, take that back, all of us here with lowered cars have been able to get an alignment. thats alot of people.

That should answer you question. Unless your drop is extreamly low (coils or bags), you won't need a camber kit. You most likely will not be low enough with springs to need a camber kit.

Alright just wanted to be sure. I hope I didnt affend anyone, I just wanted the facts. So if it does need adjusting the guy who does the alignment would no to adjust it on the shocks or does it just not need adjusting at all?

I would say its up to you want you want to do...But I had no Camber kit at one time and it messed my tires up and then I took it into Another shop "A" good one here and they said I needed a camber kit and was saying to me how dumb the other garage was for aligning it with that much of a drop and not putting a kit on it...and all the garages around here all say it and even the one place I did taking it to because they are a little more $, But they are the best around this area..There a spring place called "Dias Springs" and they do everything with any kind of car's and they even got a special kind on lift for lowered cars, But to the point they told me that you need a camber kit when that car is lowered that much....So Im just helping you out so you don't run into the same problems i did and Im not try to say what the other people posted is wrong but just every one has there on opinion's....Well I wish you luck with it and hope this helps you out....
