anyone have a link for a write up on a 4x4 cavy that's lifted with maybe 31's on it? went out mud boggin this weekend and kinda wanna lift it now, tuck the exhaust and maybe skid plate it.
front wheel drive mud bogger, with a four cylinder in it, yup, your getting far!!!!!!
should i go back and bold the part about 4x4 cavalier.... i'm sure there's someone that's done the conversion out there.... maybe put it on a blazer or s10 frame... some of the older s10's i know used a 2.2 litre, not sure if those were 4x4 or not, but that would be a nice option to see.
its alot of time and alot of money to do that. why not just get a jeep and save the headaches
i have a jeep... but i want something that can go somewhat fast. ha ha. not a single link out there for a lifted cavy though huh?
a lifter cavalier is not gonna be somewhat fast..... 4wd = even more drivtrain loose and trying to put 4 31" tires I can garantuee you the car will not get out of its own way, it seriously would be one of the slowest cars on the planet and it will not stop.
What people have done for the lifted cavalier, is to take a s10/15 4x4 frame and drivetrain. Then shorten the frame and driveshaft. After that they mounted the cavalier body ontop of the s10/15 frame.
There is no real way to add 4x4 to the stock unibody, or lift it high enough for mudding.
There was a thread with acouple of pics of a green 4 door cavalier (95-99 body style) that was put on the s10/15 frame. They used the 4.6L though, and not the 2.2L
that's mint... i wanna look into some skid plating first off, then probably coil overs maybe. i'm sure someone out there sells gears for a cavalier.... give it like 4.88 and an arb... ha ha, only partially serious there.
