E- Brake?

Guys,

Something is wrong with my ebrake and don't know how to fix it. If I pull the handle, it works but it won't stay. Do you guys know what might be wrong?

Take the console off an look. There's 2 bolts in the storage compartment, and 2 near the front (mine are in the cup holder and under the e-brake boot.)

Yup, I currently suffer from the same problem, actually this is the second time and I know its broken now. The problem is a little plastic piece of crap in the handle that can get out of track and not click to hold the brake. Mine has now snapped so I've bought a new complete assembly from GMPD. I forgot how I fixed it the first time but I think I remember all you need to do it take the boot off and you will be able to see the problem.

ok, once I was trying to take the consil thing off and never did. The auto shifter was in the way. Which is the griping part to put the car in gear. I'm just trying to take care of the transmission because I pull it to park.

Parking in gear is NOT bad for the tranny and IS a good idea. Using the partking brake is always a good idea for a stick shift.

The knob has a little clip in a small slit on the front of the handle, use a small screwdriver to pry it out. Then just pull straight up on the handle.
