I was wondering who here is using solid strut mounts? I'm tired of replacing my rear mounts every year, and ran across a company who makes solid mounts for the jbody, even if you have yellows they offer mounts as well.
Anyway of the people who have the mounts how do you like them? and what dont you like about them?
Thanks-Jeff
Held makes solid mounts but they do not make them for regular spring diameter, only for the smaller coilover setups.
completely solid, no
but tein ss and mcmoney are the best ur gonna get
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
someone needs to talk to TTR they seem to be on a roll with the solid mount stuff haha. give them some more fun
The one, the only, ME.
Any web sites to go along with these names?

mmm......i contacted them a little while ago and they didnt tell me that....ill have to shoot them an email.
Shawn-http://heldmotorsports.com but in the jbody section nothing is listed they told me they are updating the web page soon.
Mcmoney- I might be interested in ur plates once the new year comes around with car insurance, school, and other assorted bills my money is getting low, but i would definatly be interested in the plates for the front and the rears eventually.
04eco-I inquired about some parts i was in need of from TTR a little while ago and i heard what i wanted to hear...but i dont know if they would like me to share what i was told in an email so I will leave it up to them to post up whenever they feel like it.
whatever happened to the gravana solid mounts they were making? I thought they'd be out by now.. anybody have any info?
I'm tired of replacing my strut mounts...
ive never had to replace my mounts with my gravana's , and i even hit a few speed bumps and bounced over them like a 4wd , lol
gravana is only making the front camber mounts , as far as i know
I e-mailed Held and this was their response.
Yes, we have solid mounts. They work great when using the Koni strut, a much more robust set up than the stock mount. The mounts are $100 for the pair.

Is Held with gravana? Anyone got them and want to give a run down of the ride/performance?

You only know that cause I spent weeks searching the net for them for me and you haha.

I already talked to them they said it would be sometime this year that they would be able to start on them if they do start them.
I will let you guys all know when I order my held rears how they are and the quality. I plan on getting them within th next few months.

Well, getting back on the topic of this thread. There is an advantge on the handling side of things, the biggest dis-advantage is road noise. You hear every little pebble in the road if you have a tight suspension.
^marginally better handling of course.
well if i dont have to replace my rear strut mounts every year i'll be ahead of the game ....
i want these, will they work with the RK Prostreets?
1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
5-spd
Where do you get RK Prostreet and are they any good?
so where exactly do i buy these "held" solid strut mounts?
As I posted earlier, HT Motorsports, give them a call @ 616 803 1433.
The owner is saying they will fit Koni and work good!

I am going to be the test subject on if they fit and work with gravana coilovers. I have talked with held and they say it should fit no problem and I have pics of the fronts and they look liek they will fit any coilover spring. I dont know how well they will fit with regular springs.

Watching, but I have never had to replace strut mounts on any of my J's. I have owned a 97, 96, and 2001 (in the 3 gen, and all with aftermarket springs, and struts). I do not understand why people are having this issue.
FU Tuning
not to thread jack, but how do you know when you need to replace the mounts?
It'll sound like your window is bouncing up and down on a hinge. Or like your driving around with a bowling ball in your trunk.
Bringing this back from the dead with good reason.
My HT Motorsports solid rear strut mounts are almost finished.
HOWEVER, that's not why I post. I'm working with Held to make these for more struts. So far, they can supply you with them for OEM's, Koni's, and Gravana coilovers. Additionally, they now have the dimensions needed for D-specs. AGX's and Monroe's are soon to follow.
BUT, here's my question regarding the following comment by Darkstars:
Darkstars wrote:Held makes solid mounts but they do not make them for regular spring diameter, only for the smaller coilover setups.
Why does that even matter? If all other aftermarket springs are made to work with the OEM strut Mounts, what is stopping them from working with a solid mount that also fits onto OEM struts?
