After reading
this thread, I think I have made up my mind on getting these springs. However, I don't know which strut setup I should go with. I am lookin at both the Koni yellows and Tokico D-specs. I know the with the yellows, you have to modify your strut housings to get them to work. But a ton of people still recommend them over the d-specs which are direct replacement. So why does everyone like the yellows over the d-specs? Is it because they are better for adjusting or because they ride better? Thanks
when i was trying to decide on the two, they where so comparable that it came down to the fact that the d-specs where direct replacement and i do not currently have the time nor room to do the koni install right now.
i had the yellows on my 98, loved them! did the install myself, really didn't go that bad, a little bit of work, but good result...
so like i said for me the direct replacement did it for me this time - plus i hadn't tried these yet & if i didn't like them i'd sell'em and get the yellows...
hope that helps...

And that's what i am kind of feeling like right now. i have never done anything like this before and the easier, the better. you said your setup with the d-specs ride nice in your thread about them, but would you recommend them over the yellows since you have now had experience with both?
He just threw them on yesterday, so his opinion may be a bit biased right now.
go with the yellows...iv never heard a bad thing about them...and from what i remember i think thats what road magnet recommends...

Yellows have a well proven history. D-Specs have a few years of good history. Yellows are fairly easy to rebuild if you abuse them into needing it. D-Specs are a direct drop in, and usually cost just a little less.
its basically all personal preference. i stand by koni so im biased.

Well I was gonna order from you anyway
. I am thinkin I might as well just go with the d-specs just because of ease of install. Because I have never done this before or tried either shock setup and its not like i am gonna notice a huge difference and regret not going with the other one.
all i can say is that i liked the koni's and i really like the d-specs...i do not think you can go wrong either way...just depends on the amount wrench time you want to put into them. just make sure you get a nice pipe cutter for the koni's, thats what i did...and a vise as well...really good metal drill bits also...and a 12 pack of mountain dew
one draw back was having to drill out my brand new rear mounts for the koni install - they where brand new...but i got over it.
adjustable suspension = fun

Anyone else have input on why they like one over the other??
What else should I get new/replace when doin the install??
^What new strut mounts are recommended and where can I get them?
sorry to thread jack but donnie what size rims do you have
^Its cool man.
I tried sendin Road Magnet an email but they don't respond (its been like a week) to ask them a few questions and maybe order them. So idk what to do really? Anyone know how else I can contact em?
