as i am going down a crappy road i get a light clinking noise in tune with the bumps on the road. the noise is coming from the driver rear mount or strut. if i press down sharply down on the trunk, i get the initial clunk noise, then as the strut is on its way down and up, it sounds like the gas is traveling thought the valve as usual. when i take the boot off on the inside of the strut mount, i can feel that initial clunk on the strut bolt. i have heard that cavalier can eat strut mounts like nothing.
this is my winter beater, 2000, 2200, 80,000 miles and on stock springs and struts. i would rather pay 40 bucks for two rear mounts than buy 150 in struts and mounts beings that a just blew 3 grand in tuition and books.
I have heard good things about that kyb gr 2 struts for stock springs and figured on just getting kyb mounts as well from tirerack for 156 shipped.
thanks for the help.

The struts can be bought on eBay for $99 + $8 S&H. The mounts can be found at autozone or where ever. They're all the same, and yes Js eat them like a fat kid in a candy store.
