sportlines, the lowest lowering spring availible?

Are sportlines the lowest lowering spring availible for the 95-05 cavs and sunfires?

Lowest in the rear as far as I know... Front I think is beat by Road Magnets.

Yeah I see that they are rated 1.7F 2.3R but when I see them on some of the cars on here it looks raked and seems that the car sits a lil bit higher in the rear. Unless it's just my eyes messing with me.

J's have a natural rake to 'em anyhow (greater than .5"), Sportlines even that out some, but there's still a rake.

Here's the actual pic of the Cav in my sig on Sportlines for reference... Granted, I'm running a 40 series on the 17's instead of 45's...

I noticed the same thing with Sportlines. It seems like they do a good job to even out the rake in the body vs. the ground, but the rear tire still has more space than the front. It's even more obvious on my car than Kardain's, thanks to my 35 series tires.

Yeah I would like to get a nice lowering spring that actually drops the car being on these 17" wheels. Right now i'm on H&R sport springs which drop 1.6F and 1.4R.

If you want something that really hugs the tires, you should probably move on to coilovers or bags. Springs shorter than the Sportlines would begin to push the limits of practicality on a car that actually gets driven. Some adjustability would help keep you sane for the days when you're not in the mood for a harsh ride.

The other springs I was looking into is the road magnet springs. From my research they drop the front 2.2 and the rear right around 2".

sportlines are lower then the roadmagents.... my car drags through the car wash on sporlines, it clears on roadmagnets

Besides how low you're looking to be, how do you plan on supporting such a low ride height? No point in being incredibly low to the ground if you have a horrible ride height. You might end up hating your car afterwards...

After reading Darkstar's review on Roadmagnet springs, I'm almost considering selling my proki (which hasn't been installed yet) and buying a set of road magnets. Although they may not be as low as sportlines, he really liked the roadmagnets more. I've also heard this from a number of people who went from sportlines to roadmagnets.

They are both quality springs, and I'm sure you will be happy either way.

I'm not really a competitive driver, and my car gets used for a lot of short-tripping on some really rough rural roads. I was worried that the Sportlines would literally be a "pain in the ass" in the long-run, and I tried to get Road Magnets at the last minute when I heard they gave a smoother ride. I ended up using the Sportlines anyways -- and they ARE a harsher ride -- however after loosening up my D-Specs to a soft setting of about 7-turns from full-firm, I got a ride that approximates stock and still manages to stay off the bump stops for the potholes. It seems to me that I don't need different springs after all.

Maybe this is because I haven't had a chance to compare the Road Magnets -- maybe I would be able to run a tighter strut setting and maintain the same comfort. All I know is that the Sportlines can be smooth and comfortable if I need them to be.

I love my Sportlines, but 2.3 in the rear? No way. Intrax is a 2 inch drop all the way around as well. My Intrax from my 97 Z were lower than my Sportlines.

could they maybe have it backward and it actually be 2.3F and 1.7R for the sportlines?

Should I stay with the H&R's that I already have. This is my second set of lowering springs on my cavalier. I had sprints on it before the h&r's. Let me know what you think.

You haven't updated your profile to say what kind of struts you have. If they are AGX's then stay with the H&R, if Yellows or D-specs, then I'd go lower with sportlines or roadmagnets.

If you have Dspecs or Yellows, you could also go with a coil over like goldlines.

Right now it's on the stock srtuts. I am also talkin to a local friend that is getting rid of his cav with sportlines and D specs. What would be a good price for them they've been on the car a lil over a year.

What about Sprints? Those are pretty damn low springs if I recall...
