I have a 2004 cavalier and everytime go to turn a corner without totally stopping I hear this weird noise...Its like a humming noise and it happens when I turn either way. it might be a back brake issue but i really have no clue .........Any ideas......
Sounds like power steering pump. I would check the level of power steering fluid, Also take look for leaking fluid around the lines and pump area, Also I would inspect youre rack and pinion steering as well for leaks torn rubber boots.

sounds like a wheel bearing to me, possibly both if the noise happens in either direction.
If it's the P/S you feel/hear it when sitting still by turning lock to lock. Sounds more likely to be a wheel bearing to me.
