okay so right now im on megan springs with koni yellows in the rear and stock struts in front, the ride is great but im gonna swap out my kit for the ls sport bumpers with lips to go for a cleaner look, but the thing is i wanna go a little lower so the ls kit looks better. i already ordered my front konis so i wanna buy some ground control coilovers to drop it more. my questions are i have heard you can order different spring rates from them, im not looking to autocross or anything just to drop it more, would getting the softer spring rates be better to have close to stock ride? i know they will feel great with the koni strust but still i wonder wat spring rates would be the best choice for a better ride. second question, if i do decide to do this would i have to order them directly from ground control? wat is the price difference? it wont really matter in the end though as long as i get to choose wat i want. i think this is the last question lol wat kinda modification goes into making the ground controls work with the koni yellow struts? i think these are all my questions haha any info from any of you all would be great, thanks guys!
You can call Ground Control and talk to them about rates. They have alot of experience in the department. You may even want to get in touch with Koni and discuss it there too. I'm not sure if running a lower rate spring will improve your ride on yellows. They're really not designed for use with stock springs, so I would assume that running them with near stock rates might suck. But then again, you can have them re-valved for whatever rate springs you end up using. I would say your best bet is to order directly from them, since they can give you whatever you want without any change in price.
yeah i sent them a message, kinda late to call haha, i dont mind it being kinda stiff cuz iknow the spring rates on my megans are kinda high and they still ride great just with the rear konis, yet i wondered which would give the better ride, thanks for the input ill make sure to call as soon as i can. wondering if anyone else has any input? especially on the installation?
Sorry I didn't answer it before- when you order the GC kit, you tell them what struts you're using, and they send you what you need for a direct fit system. IIRC, they have listings for like 5 different popular struts, but again, they can send you whatever you need as long as you tell them what you have.
