installing spotlines, why are all the front mount bushings loose?

ok, so i got my yellows all mounted in the stock strut housings and i go to install my sportlines on them, everything is going fine, then i get my upper bearing plates just set on the top... and all the little round plastic and rubber bushings are not tight, i THOUGHT the spring was supposed to be tight against them, but the spring actually sits on the big rubber portion of the mount and has nothing to do with the smaller rings in the center of the mount...

am i doing something wrong? i cannot see how this is right, the rings would just fall down in the middle of the spring under pressure. do i not even use them???

im having a real tough time with this suspenion setup, i wish i could have had the option of taking the stock stuff apart and learned how it goes together, but unfortunatly i didnt have that luxury and regret every second of having tuffy install my crap skunk2 coilovers.

Sportlines are shorter springs than stock... once you lower the car, it'll fit the right way

ok, i understand that part, but the way its looking to me is that even with the weight of the car, the rings in the center still dont have any spring holding them up and would just fall right down.

and also, is it possible that they are short enough to not have to compress them to get the bearing/mount plates on? because i could have put the nut on real easily and been done with it lol.

the directions from eibach state that their logo should be right side up when installing them, which makes the big end at the top and the little end down at the bottom on the spring perch... too me it looks RIGHT if you flip it over and put the small end up by the bearing plate, THEN the spring sits on all those bushings and things in the center of the mount, but it cant go this way can it? i mean the logo would read upside side down when on the car, that cant be right.....

I didn't need to compress the springs to put the mount and nut on. I don't think anyone here has. It's short enough to do it without compressing it.

The stock springs, yes, they need to be compressed to get back on. They're longer.

Just put the in the proper way... Eibach facing up... and you'll be fine

ok, so should i just ditch the little rings so they dont fall in the spring? the spring sits just fine on the hard rubber part of the upper mount, but these 'isolator' rings IMO do nothing, but how could that be... its like they hold up the dust boot or something...

also, is there supposed to be a hard steel 3" tall ring deal that the dust dust boot pushes into the upper mount with?

I'm working with the 2000 mounts... so mine are slightly different... but there's a metal ring on the top of the dust boot that has a hole thru it, that sits on the top of the strut (before you put the mount on top of it). The dust boot is just pushed into the metal ring to hold it up... I know one of them has fallen out.... I need to fix that still

Got pics?
