I just brought a pair of D-specs for my 96 Cavalier sedan for $450 shipped. I just installed them today and realized the adjuster tool is missing. I found out through other post that I can use a 3mm wrench (is this true?) for the mean time. My question is how do I adjust the rear struts, and which way do I turn the adjuster to make it softer. Pics would help if anyone can get some thanks!

You don't really need pics. The 3mm wrench is correct. Just insert and turn. Left is softer and right is harder. Turn fully to the right until it stops to go full hard. Then just subtract turns to soften. If you go too soft, eventually the screw will come out. Not a big deal, just screw it back in a bit. It is that easy.

Exactly. To "tighten" the valve screw makes the ride harder. Just turn it clockwise until it stops (full firm/hard), then loosen it to soften the ride. You have 7-1/2 turns to work with. For daily driving on Sportlines, mine are almost full soft.

So to adjust it, i put the allen key in the top of the strut for both front & rear, I just want to make sure its done correctly!

The strut comes with a protective cap. The adjuster screw is underneath that, and it should be pretty self-explanitory.
