pics of front spring peice... help me figure out how it goes in

ok, im having troubles with this piece of my monroe upper strut mount. its a round plastic ring with a tab on one side of it, im ASSUMING that it goes in the way i have it pictured, but i just dont know, if i put it in that way one side is floppy and too me doesnt seem correct. to me it seems like it should have 2 tabs on each side.

obviously i know that it goes in with the upper bearing plate mount on the bottom and i THINK it holds up the other rings in the center, but again... i dont see how it can do this as one side flops in the wind and the other is nice n tight (the one with the tab)

i put the whole thing together and got it tight etc and that ring with the tab held up the other rings OK, but not ideally... i would think it should be much tighter and sturdier than that. i also dont understand why this piece wouldnt be made of steel, i dont see how this plastic piece could hold up to that much stress.

thanks guys

explain? i know it goes inside the mount (on the very bottom almost level with the dust boot cap), but if it wasnt held up by the spring this and 3 other rings that need support would just fall to the bottom of the spring-theres nothing to hold them in there.

ur absolutly right. i got the whole assembly off a parts car i have tonight and this piece goes at the very top under the mount.
i believe ive figured out how it all goes together now. hopefully its right.
