so what would be better? i drive a lot on the street, no autocross as the only autox track is about 3 hours away, and a lot of freeway and on and off ramps, and a ton of dragstrip. oh, i have a 04 cav. and i was thinking of getting either konis or dspecs.

def.dont get the skunk2's... they ride like a go-kart and do not come any way to mount them on the struts other the the stock mounts, and while doing that the fronts are only able to drop about as much as sportlines-maybe a tad lower.... the rear doesnt budge from stock at full drop on the adjustments. if you were to physically CUT the threaded shafts in half-they would drop the car as low as they claim to be able to. but then i think the ride would be even worse, and i really cant imagine a ride worse than what they are.

depends on how much drop want and how much coin you have.

personally, im on yellows and sportlines, love the handling.. the ride is pretty stiff on the softest setting with the yellows-but nowhere near what skunk2 coilovers are, and the drop is about 2 fingers wheel gap (honestly... i would prefer a tad lower)

if i were you id get yellows and sportlines, the setup is usually around $800 and it really is one of the best setups you can buy.
but if you want to go lower (which the yellows are not designed for, so use with caution) get the rk/ground control coilovers.

yes lets blame the skunk2 coils becasue your shop didnt put them on right.

yes the skunk2 coils arent the best, i had them on my cav before i switched to air ride and i had them on koni reds. i was able to slam my car all the way down on these coils and tuck the tops of my tires.

you sit here and bash them saying they dont lower the car at all when in fact it was your horrible shop that did it, didnt do it right.

anyway to the op, what are you looking for? do you want springs or coilovers? there is a big difference between the 2 and i dont think you have your mind made up on what your looking for. first figure out if you want springs or coils then you can go from there as to what brand.

i have the cheapo weapon r circuit pros coilovers now, but they are so stiff that i dont really like them(to harsh) and my friend has the tein s techs and the are great, so i thought i might try out some coils again. i had a set of goldline coils to begin with and i hated them. but i still like the way coilovers are adjustable, so i thats why i was wondering how good the rk's were. basically i want it lowered, but i want a good ride as well, but i want it to handle as well.

if you want adjustablitly then get coils but dont get cheap coils. get ground controls. if you want it to ride and handle good, you need to get new struts. with coilovers you need either dspecs or koni yellows

I have the full Koni system, struts and springs, and I love it. The yellows are firm, and border line rockish on full stiff, but I like that. Only reason I turned them down today was because I hurt my back at work yesterday. Oh, they handle great just about everywhere, and I don't have upgraded swaybars or strut braces.
