Just kidding, but I had to get someone to read this...and if you live close to me (Raleigh) and you help out I will be more than happy to feed your thirst with the beverage of your choice. I have everything swapped out (neon swap on 03+) and working except for the e-brake. Has anyone figured out how to fix this problem? It is supposed to be self adjusting, but it isn't taking up enough slack. Thanks for the info.....and yes I searched....no one replied to the post.
the 03+ e-brake cables are long, you can swap cables form an older year or from a neon, those are your options
btw when I say 03+ i know its AT LEAST 03-04-05 that have the different cables, I don't knwo what year they actually changed them
I had the same problem when went and tried this.
I ended up putting the drums back on till I figure this out.
What I get for tring to mod a DD.

did you swap them out on yours and if so how hard was it?
what about cutting the ends off a few inches and having another end crimped on it?
is there someway to manually adjust the cables on 03+?
anyone else have suggestions?
anyone else?????? I know someone has figured out how to do this with 03+ and not having to go through the hassel of swapping out the e-brake cables.
im no expert at all but cutting a cable and crimping another end on might reduce the strength.. and you dont wanna mess with your e-brake like that (espically if its 5-spd)
but like i said again, im no expert and really i have no idea
come on.......I know there has to be some of you guys who have done this on 03+. What do I have to do to get replies to posts?
you got a reply, your choices are swaping older cavi cables or swaping the neon cables, just because thats not the answer you want to here it doesn't change that thats the answer. Those are what are proven to work, if you don't want to go that route your own your own.
i doubt it would be that big of a deal to swap out the cable from an older J.
come on guys, if you can swap the neon kit on your car you can surely figure out to swap an ebrake cable
i doubt it would be that expensive to buy one in a yard either as theres what, literally HUNDREDS of wrecked J's on

Just looking for options. I can swap them out, I was just trying to see if anyone has been able to make the stock cables work. Thanks for your assistance.
not here, I have just been driving around w/ no e-brake. If I find a solution I will definately post.
Bump.
I never changed ebrake cables before so It might be a first.
I take any advise anyone has.
