well tonight i put on my rims and for some reason the pass side tire seems to be rubing agains the spring perch when i drive. the tires are 215/45/17 but only the pass side tire rubs. On the drivers side i can slide my hand over the top of the tire between the perch and tire but on the pass side my hand gets stuck between them. What would cause this?
Camber sounds off, have the alignment checked.
its not i had it alinded last month. i just under stand way my perches are so low when my buddy zacks perches on his 4dr sedan sunfire is higher
I think Greg is probably right. even though you had an alignment done doesnt mean it was done right.
There is pretty much nothing else it could be....there is nothing adjustable between the wheel and the perch besides camber
well that f*ckin sucks. What about a blown strut, even tho it doesn't make any sense to me, a few friends said that could be it too.
Blown strut wouldn't do that. It'd just bounce too much. The knuckle is bolted to the outer "housing" of the strut, the valving/seals that "blow" are encased within that, and would have zero effect on the spring perch or alignment.
Go get an alignment and ask for a printout of before and after specs..that way you will know
i did i was right there next the guy when he did the alingment of the car.
Im sure he knows about suspension, so go to him and ask for help
have you had these wheels on the car before?
possibly the wrong offset of one of the wheels.
no i just bought them from Chris Fontana. im goin to fully inspect the wheel and wheel well tomorrow to make sure everythings tighten down and where it should be.
