im sure some of you know this but i havent figured it out yet. how much wider if any is the 2nd gen rear axle to a 3rd gen. and are the 2 mounting points on the frame of the car the same. i was looking at one at the junk yard and looks to be close but not sure. im not worried about the strut mounting or that just the front mounting points and width. thanks alot in advance if someone can answer this
also is the length from the front mounting point to center of the hub different length. im asking all this because i might have an idea with my air ride but just need to know if those measurements are the same.
disregard this guys but if anyone knows if a 95-98 grand am rear axle is the same other than having the springs mount on the axle would help me out alot. i was able to do some researching but thats one thing cant figure out and cant go to the junk yard right now to measure.
here is a pic of my reasoning for wanting to do this.and i found one at the local yard that im sure is cheap and i think it will look cleaner than anything i come up with. its the same thing as esb's setup. i just want to take the coils out and put a set of 2b6 bgs in
thank you phewes i thought no one would respond lol
While you are at it, you should extend the arm mounting area forward to center the rear wheels.
Hope it goes all well for you, Im interested to see a progress.
Good luck!
yea im hoping that the grand am one the front mounting point to wheel center is longer than the cavi. cuz i think from what i have gathered i know that the ga is just like the beretta and the beretta can go on the 2nd gens but no one so far knows if you can put a 2nd gen on a 3rd gen. i plan on going to the junk yard to get measurement this weekend and hopefully have this done within the next month before i move back to chicago i will deff make a post if all goes well
