Who would be interested in a GP for a K-Brace for the 2.4L and 2.2 Ecotec?
Brian (SpeedRacerZ) and us have been working together to get this item back on the market.
The way cost are looking, they would be normally about $89.99 + ship
However if we had a strong interest and had 20 ready to purchase we could do them for $69.99 + ship.
They would be Powder coated Red or Black, and you could bolt or weld on the bar.
This is an interest thread only.... Please post your comments.

would it work with the auto?
The oil pan on the automatic transmission sits too low in the engine cradle to properly mount a K brace inside. The only brace you are going to see that works with an auto would be something that sits below the cradle, thus leaving it exposed to objects in the road.
I'm also assuming the exhaust on the 2.2/2200 motor's would get in the way?
Yes it is the exhaust on the 2.2 OHV engine that gets in the way. It looks like it will only fit the 5 speed cars. I will verify this however...

Not to jack the thread, but what is the purpose of a K-brace in the performance of the suspension. I'm always looking to beef up suspension, but is this just a fine tune point, or is it a must have? If its a part that makes a good positive difference, I would be interested in one for my manual eco...

Its purpose is to improve chassis rigidity. As you may have seen, the lower A-arms on the front suspension mount to the engine cradle/subframe, which is shaped like a U from the factory. By running a brace across the front and then some added cross support, it helps make the cradle/subframe more stiff, resulting in better consistency.
^^^ to add to that... basically think of it like a strut bar for the bottom
Thanks for the helping posts guys

Basically that.
By having a stiffer structure, the moving suspension component will do the work, hence the suspension will be compliant, instead of the chassis/suspension doing the work.
All your upgrades in suspension will work more effectively with a stiffer structure. K-brace will help with that upfront.
And NO, THIS WILL NOT CONTROL ROLL, this is NOT a stabilizer bar. You laugh... but there have many posts in which people think that braces and strut bars control body roll.
My only concern is if it will sit flush with the cradle? I have a 1.2in drop up front and my ground clearance is already low. For me, if the brace hangs, I wont be able to go over manholes.
There was a K-brace a few years ago in which the brace went on the inside of cradle and had flat piece which bolted on the lower side of the cradle. That design was nice.
Either way it sounds interesting.

In the design everything is "tucked" up in the sub frame brace, except the mounting tabs which are about 1/8" thick.

well that just blows about the auto pan getting in the way. oh well, i guess i'll just have to live with my rk sub-frame brace.
These should only take about 1 week to get ready and ship. We carry most all the parts in stock already, just need to weld them up

Aw com'on Aaron,
After all the kick azz work you guys been doing with the auto stuff, esp with the tranny mount.
I'm sure you can come up with a sfb for the autos.
The tubular design of the RK brace leaves like a 1/4th inch of space between it and the pan.
And when I had Speed Racers, it could be used when flipped upside down, but of course sit hella low.
So,
I thought, what if there was some type of tubular design like RKs brace, with the 'K' factor like Speed Racers.
We all know about the debacle with RKs tubular control arms.
But, design/engineering wise, that's how I pictured the auto "K" sfb would be.
Com'on you can do it.

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
we need the K braces , and traction bars
id be interested in K brace for the g/fs cav
