i read somewhere that as the gasses and liquids escape the rotors they will hiss and squeak.. and i assumed that some of it was just that..
but how bad or how often does this really happen?
the times when i really notice it is windows down about 20 mph when i barley touch the pedal.. if i apply alot of pressure it seems to stop.. sometimes
any insight into why my brakes are squeaking, or if it is normal with the slotted rotors
thanks guys
month or two ago..
when i swapped the stock rotors for powerslott, i put new hawk pads on
Did you follow the wear in steps for this combo?
check your pads ... chamfer the edges a little bit, it might solve your squeaking
14.82 @ 97 mph

yeah
and what do you mean "chamfer"?
mine do the same thing. like if you BARELY touch the pedal, they make noise, but anything more than barely touching it the sound goes away. i plan to get my rotors turned soon hoping to see if that will fix it.
it should be the pad back against the caliper squeaking. put on some brake pad anti-squeal on the backs of the pad and see if it goes away. that combo isn't supposed to squeak.

i have the same setup and NEVER squeak.
did you clean the rotors?
its the hawk pads. Try bedding them in again and it may help. Fast stops from 60 to 10(don't wuss out at 15, or 20) about 10 times. This also can help with brake pulse as well depending on how cemented your rotors have become.
Its the price of performance brake equipment if you want the truth.

i noticed that if i barley tap the pedal, it goes away
or sometimes if i turn the wheel 1/100th it goes away..
sometimes they dont squeak at all...
its not only when applying pressure, its when im just rollin around
