alright guys, i put a sport suspension on today. KYB agx and matching springs (vogtland)
problem im having is that we had to jack up my car to get it off the lift... any special tips you guys have to make my life easier for changing my oil, alignments, tire rotation? i have a TYPE J bodykit and 2.0" lowered all the way around. il get some measurements and pictures asap. thanks for the help!
jiffy lube? lol.
I just cant drive 55
lol... id rather not... haha
but ya... i love it lower, but idk about practicality. im sure a lot of people deal with worse cases than mine, but any ideas?
put wooden planks on the lift so when u drive up on it your car sits higher.
bag it so you can lift it do get onto hoists:p
watch for flying sparks!!!
yeah man come into J lube.

8. check the battery fluid/ condition of the belts
9. perform a light check/ upon request replace any bulbs except fog light starting at $6.99
usually we change the filter. lol
and most of the time we drain the old oil first. LMAO
5 and 6 dont apply to J's.
and i storongly recomend watching them perform the work. and keeping an eye on the lower bay tech.
service starts at $32.99
i beleive we just dropped the price of tire rotations to $30 or something dumb like that for 3 minutes worth of work. used to be 50!
that being said. get some 10' long 4x4 and cut an angle on on side about 14 inches long and your car will sit flat. if thats to steep use 2x4s in front of that to extend the angle. my buddy glued those to his garage floor cause hes always working on lowered cars. and he doubled em up to make it easier to drive onto.
Listen F***ers. FASTERTHANAHONDA is a joke because I WORK FOR HONDA. I'll talk @!#$ about Fords to, that doesn't mean I can beat a 12 second mustang.
thats a great idea guys, i thought about that for a while last night after it was mentioned, and it makes perfect sense. i guess ill try the 2x4 scene because when we got it down, it was loose on the rear passenger and we could get that out, but the other ones were just to snug, so i think about an inch and a half would make a tremendous difference. and surprisingly the boykit did not make a difference. it was the actual frame of the car and lift points which were fitting tightly.
i have the j-body kit and i used to drive it onto 2X4's just to get a jack under it. now i have a low profile jack that fits under it
but if youre not doin your own work id suggest bringing 2x4's with you to the shop
i do most of my own work, but i use my friends shop, and he helps with technical stuff...
so i am planning on bringing some 2x4's
im going to measure my tire width and slap som 2x4s together to get it up a bit, do you guys just drive up onthem or did you make a cut so its easier to get onto like a wedge
i used 2 per side and staggered them. dont need to cut them but you might want someone there to make sure they dont slide
well my friend has a cut in 4x4s. but with 2x4s it isnt necassary. just makes it a little easier. and before he glued em down we would use our foot so they didnt slide since the floor was oily.

I was actually thinking of investing in a low profile floor jack. Don't they have some with super low clearence?
I'm back from the dead.

My Cavalier Burnt up :-(
when I dropped mine, even just a 1.5 all around, I got my jack stuck under the frame(what of it we do have) just dropped in on a few blocks of wood and moved the jack to the pinch weld,
but 2x4's work really well, I have heard some people will even carry one or two with them in the car just in case.
A low profile floor jack will work for you.

*they were GR-2s not agx's, im putting agx's on when i can afford them. please dont flame me for using the struts for lowering the car, i know its not ideal for the struts.
Just buy either a long-style low-profile jack, OR car ramps with extensions. One of the local j-drivers uses them with great success... Probably because he's such a cheap bastard, however (ebay coil-overs, anyone)?

I would say some 2x4's or the long style jack. Those extended ramps never worked for me, I guess my car was too low. Oh and a tool box to, when I went to get my car aligned (only 1 shop would do it) they would make me take off my bumper and take my own 2x4's, lol.
Getting "better built" for the '08...
at work to get the 911's and what not in the we just pull the front whels up on some SUV front brake rotors, works perfect
i have a couple 2x8's i drive onto when i wanna lift my car. my pinch weld has been taking a beating though from lifting the jack and stands.
Lowest profile I've seen is the Michelin Aluminum racing jack. It has faults, though, mainly a puny weight limit (1.5T max), and that it is too short.
I found the jack I want, cast steel from a local tool store, profile is under 4 inches off the ground. The Michelin will do 2.5".
Good luck!
