Hey peeps,
for the installation of the Koni yellows, will they fit w/o modification of the mounts? or do the strut mounts need to be bore out to fit? if So, would it be easier to just buy new mounts that accommodate the new strut set up?
If there is such mount, where can i find it?
Thanks.

depends, some people had to drill out the rear mounts and some didnt. also you will not find cav mounts with a bigger hole in it. you will just have to drill out the hole a little more to make room for the strut shaft
rear mount need to me drilled out, the OEM shaft is 3/8 and the Koni is around 7/16-1/2. I drilled out my set at 1/2, I want to try it out at 7/16 the next time the mounts go.
if you haven't already seen it I have a post that shows the whole thing being done. do search for Koni install pictures you should find it.
I believe it also depends on the year of the car. Drilling them out should be a simple operation. If you don't feel confident in doing it yourself a shop shouldn't charge you more than 1/2 hour labor to take care of the problem.

just a tidbit, the monroe rear mounts need be drilled as well.
Ive always had to drill out the rears when doing yellows. Yet Im not sure if they are ever factory or aftermarket mounts.
What springs will you be running? I highly suggest purchasing some brand new 95-99 style front mounts from your local auto parts store. They hold up 100 times better under the abuse of being lowered.

^^^ don't all 3rd gen J's use the same strut ? because I have been under the impression that they do for a long time now, as well as many other parts that are interchangeable.

Yes but the Koni Yellow's shaft on the rear struts is a larger diameter than stock. I am pretty sure it's because the adj. dampening being at the stop of the strut going through the shaft versus at the bottom like AGX's per say.
I had stock's drilled out to a 1/2". Being we didn't have a drill press it was sketchy, I had replaced the struts but the mounts had previously had over 80,000 miles put on them with no issues and were fine up to the day I sold them.
