Installed my Tein SS setup this past weekend and went to put my Freedom Design strut bar on and suddenly the nuts don't work!
I think I can round out hte strut bar enough to get them to catch but wanted to see if anyone else had problems with the Tein bolts...
seems they are tapered and while they don't catch up top, the nuts I had didn't go down far enough or I couldn't get them to catch since the bar plate was in the way.
Anyone else experince this?
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
ya i did. i was lookin to get new bolts that are a bit longer. mine are rounded at the top too but i thought those were the stock bolts not the ones that came w/ the teins.

Only pulled it out of the garage long enough to install...I've not even adjusted them yet!

Update....got the rear strut bar installed today!
Had to do a bit of filing on the mounting bracket on the strut bar...used a round file and widened the hole some so it sat a little lower and then added a new nut on top!

ya i know i had to do that initially even b4 my teins. may need to do some more just for easier reinstallation. scored some new bolts from the junkyard to see if they help out any. mine look super rounded/stripped.

yep, my bolts are rounded also so the bar is in the garage now as i ponder on the options, any ideas?
I ran into the same problem with my rear stb. I kinda wedged it, but it was only secured at one spot on each side. I never thought of reaming out part of the bracket to fit it to the strut tower itself. Good idea.

Pics in my reg of the red '02. That was slammed rear and like 1/2" left in front. Keep in mind the wheels are +35mm offset.

A more accurate observation has never been typed. These should be the starting points before any serious performance modification. What's the point of making a serious performer if you can't control it's power?
