HELP ASAP :(

ok so I bought new mounts and got them drilled out got one mount on the strut ok but the other one I think is ****ed, at the top where the nut is attached there is the shaft where you put an allen key to hold it while you un-due the nut, well when I was turning it the shaft split and I didn't even loosen the nut, now I think I am ****ed what is everyones opinion, will I have to get new struts and if so what should I get? I am thinking about just getting rid of the coilovers and going just struts and springs

this is the one strut before it spilt you can see how bad the mounts were, I dont have a pic of it split because I took it to a local shop to see if they can do anything with it but it split at the top of the shaft and looked like it went down into the nut

right now I have koni reds and ground control coil overs, If these are @!#$ I need something to replace them can someone point me in the right direction to get something decent but not something that will cost an arm and a leg, also would I be able to just get koni yellows for the rear and still use the reds for the front? and how do I remove the coilovers to put onto the yellows if I can do that?

pretty sure the yellows are stiffer than the reds are. you could probably run them but as to how safe it would be, not really sure. also, you'll have to drill out the strut mounts for the larger strut shaft.

the yellows should work with the coilovers but i'm not sure exactly what you need to do (don't have any experience with sleeve type coilovers)

if you currently use the stock lower spring perch, you'll need to pound that off and put it on the yellow's as they don't have the lower spring perch on them. if not, you can probably just slide your sleeve onto the new strut body.

You can run the yellows in the rear with reds in the front. They're adjustable, so you can balance them out the way you want them.

It's actually pretty common for the struts to break like that if the nut gets rusted on.
