so i just wanna say first of all i glanced through some posts and didn't see anything realting to this exactly. but sorry if its a repeat of any sort.
i just put d specs on my 02 Z24 about a month ago. previous to this i had eibach sportlines with stock struts for the past 2 years.. excluding winters.. ( i know i shouldn't of done that but i didn't have the money for the struts).
annnywayss.. my problem is that the ride is extremely bouncy... its really annoying and as far as i know is not a common thing with this suspension setup. i've heard a lot of good things about it so i am hoping someone can help me out.
also... when i have 2 people in the back the ride is waayyyy better. i would think that would help figure out the problem maybe lol.
with that being said. i have the struts adjusted as reccommended.. 4.5 turns in the front and 5.5 turns in the rear. i messed with that a little bit and i didn't notice a difference in the bounce. i don't know if its possibly a spring problem because i had them on stock struts for so long.. or if im just not getting enough shock travel and my springs are doing all the work(thats what the guy from tociko said it could be.. but i didnt beleive most of what he was rambling to me)
any help at all with this is greatly appreciated. i just want a smooth ride in time for the bash. considering i'll probably be driving 4 hours-ish. thanks guys
Did you cut your bump stops?
Try making your struts stiffer and see what happens. Trial and error won't hurt. I know on my AGX's and prokit, I have my front on 3 and the rears on 6. Front go to 4 and rears are 8 way.
I prefer the ride all the way stiff, but for normal use on the roads I figured that was too harsh on the struts to I back them both off 1/4. When I go over quick bumps my ride feels stiff, but when I got over like little dips my car will feel like it takes the little dip and I feel every aspect of the the road.
With a lowered car, I honestly don't think there is a smooth ride other than stock. Everything else is firm and you feel everything on the road. But thats only my opinion.

correct your not going to get the same ride as stock but you can get close again. i would say you need to adjust your struts to make them stiffer. are they brand new struts or used?

i didn't do the install, i took it to a shop.. but not that i know of. i'm not familiar with all that to be honest, i'm assuming they shouldn't be cut?

they are brand new. i know the ride will not be stock in the least bit. but i didn't think the ride would get this bouncy... when i had the stock struts and the sportlines on the car, it was just as low and the ride was a lot better. now i'm starting to think i should of just left it that way til the stock struts were completely shot... i don't know. i'll try making them a little stiffer. thanks so far guys, any other opinions are welcome.
Yea, I've rode in the car and this in my opinion is nothing normal...
You hit a bump and the car just starts bouncing up and down and doesn't settle for a good second or two, it's almost like the struts are bad right from the start...
I have the AGX's and Prokit on my car ( 3/4 in the front and 6/8 in the back ) and it is nothing like this...
What are your spring rates for the front and rear? Having them on stock struts is no good for the spring, it probably damaged them. We just put D-Specs on my friends mustang with eibach pros, rides and handles like its on rails. If you hit a bump and it starts bouncing, that means the strut is doing its job but the springs aren't. Or it could be that the bump stops are deffective. I would start at the bump stops, then springs then the struts. MOve from cheapest to most exspensive. Good luck and I hope you get it worked out.

i did make it tight all the way around and it seems to be doing a lot better. but something still seems off. hopefully i can figure it out.
