So in recent talks with tein, I have found out that we can buy just the Pillowball Upper Mounts from any of there dealers.
What this means for us is......... If they will or if we can make them, We could have pillowball mounts for all or other suspension types weather it be koni yellows or tokio d-specs.
Here is there part numbers.......

I am waiting on a response from a dealer about a price and est. shipping time.
Wow they must be hurting. When they had my car for R&D I told them they should offer them separately and possibly make an adapter to fit the Koni yellows. They were very adamant about making them a TEIN only item and not available by themselves.
Yea, thats what I had thought too.
I was looking to see if any one else made pillowball mounts, but McMoney(not making them anymore) and Tein were the only ones thought I would give it a try.
I thought everyone would love this news(as long as the price was decent).

The SS models have adjustable dampening in which you can also utilize the EDFC, so no
.
Otherwise, yes, and this is great news for the J-community.
We need some way to see if these mounts will work with stock, tokico, and koni struts? Hmmmmm.

Like joe said no it's not the only difference, but I don't see why they would not work for you.
might want to check your warranty information for the konis at least. i'm pretty sure that pillowball mounts void the warranty on the yellows.
Please excuse my ignorance but what are the advantages of having pillow ball mounts? I smoother ride or tighter handling?
Another question is do you think these would work with AGXs?
The proper way of using the word seen. It is not I seen it that would be I saw it. He has seen the car is the right way to use the word. English class is Cool. By the way thats my sig
i thought there was aleady a product out there that was of good quality.

Interesting. I'll be watching this.

BTW: This is my Sig.
I'm not going to say it can't be adapted to other setups, but I know TEIN went to great lengths to make these proprietary to their setups. It maybe as simple as making an adapter for the bearing or replacing it with one of the proper shaft diameter.
Here's a couple of pics I have laying around although they probably won't help much.
i have a bunch of pics of the pillow ball mounts from when i had my setup
The spacer sleeves are easy enough to get through McMaster-Carr. What may be a problem is if the camber plates do not come with the spring hats that fit into them. We may have to order that from Tein serparately.
Sooooooo who is going to be the guiney pig and order the first set

this is good news....I wonder what made them change thier mind???
i still dont see the point with these... well other then the fact they have zero rubber in them like stockers so the front end will stiffen up some...
never understood why they are called 'pillowball' either, why not just say 'camber plates' ???

im not 100% positive but i believe his are just camber plates and not have a pillow ball.
OK as soon as I find out more info I will pick up these or I'm talking with Ground control about sending them stock mounts so they can make me a set that will fit, and then they will have it on record for the rest of us. Ground controls will be a bit more expensive because they will not be mass produced just a call and wait thing, due to the fact that there is a small demand.
As far as tein's go I want to set these up with d-specs and Ground controls
I know that the sping has to be 2.5 in dia.
Waiting on lengh then I need to see if the d-specs will really fit.
So I'm just waiting on some e-mails, and for some money.
Ground Control universal plates
These do both camber
and caster. And you won't have to wait 2 months. You just need to call and be nice. They'll most likely even drill the mount pattern to match for you (at least they said they would a few years back for me and another guy).
I guess I'm confused as to why this is a big deal when GC has been doing it for years now. I hope its not because its called a "pillowball" instead of a sperical bearing. I have yet to see a camber plate without a sperical bearing.
