Anybody here have the rk type j kit with sportline lowering springs on a 03 cavy? just wondering how low it sits, and is it still good for a daily driver? i am looking at an o3 with sportlines and the type j kit, and i have to drive this car in winter....

i have an 01 w/ the type j and pro kit. when i lived in pgh, there were alot of places i couldnt go. I personally would never recommend the sportlines with the type j no matter where you live.

x2 I had the Streetfire kit on the Sunfire before I went to the Cavalier front end and I couldn't go places even when I had stock springs on. I would say air is a must for that kit.
you people need to learn how to drive then and realize that when you lower a car there are just some places you can not go and you'll find ways around it. air doesnt matter. most air kits get you back to about stock height anyway.
my brother in law has a type j kit and sportlines and is fine. I'm on sportlines and have the w-type and am actually lower then him in the front and we both daily drive all summer with no problems.
With my GM lip and Sportlines I'm kinda low myself, but I never have a problem. Having sway bars really help me get into places.
driving with a lowered car is completely different then driving a regular car. you have to pretty much learn how to drive it as far as where you can and cant go. tricks as far as going over speed bumps and steep slopes on an angle. granted your going to scrape, but if your careful and pay attention to where you go, you can limit it alot.
^^^^^i know how to drive my car, and thats why i wouldnt suggest going sportlines. yes, you can still drive the car daily, but there are some things you cant just "get around". there were plenty of places that i just couldnt go because i didnt want to take the chance of having more than just a little scrape. i once literally got stuck on the crest of a hill on a brick road. sometimes you dont have the advantage of knowing the roads you to travel on to get somewhere.
That was also in Pittsburgh where they have someof the worst roads in the country. I live in Florida now and never worry about scraping. So it really depends on the conditions....oh and also if you ride around with car full of people....forget about it.
Hey, i am purshasing the car this week, garage inspection went well; needs a ball joint wich the seller just had done in aug. for mvi, so not sure why its gone allready.
I did notice when the car was in the air, the springs were yellow; he said they are eibachs, but i thought all eibach sportlines were red, its a 2003 cavy, did some come in yellow color.....??????
