steering/ suspension

Whats up everyone. I have a 2000 sun fire. I lowered it 2in w/ skunk2 springs. I added/ attempted to add poly ur bushings to the front control arms. I could only get the front smaller ones in the larger back ones didn't want to go in. I tore one of the flares when attempting to press them in. I didn't remove the thin metal ring/ sleeve. So maybe thats why it was so difficult & tore. Any way my main issue is when I drive the car at speeds of 40+ I some times, get a push in the steering wheel, either with or without a very tiny amount of pressure being applied to the wheel, I mean barely changing the steering wheel from a 90 degree status. It feels like some one is out side of the car and just shoves it a bit. I changed the bearings and had 2 alignments, 1 before the bearings & 1 aft. I still have this issue. The steering itself feels solid when I grab a wheel as the front end is in the air and try to push/ pull it. I did notice a bit of play in the front control arm bushings. But I did just put those in, are the sleeves too big allowing too much play around the bolt? I am going nuts with this and just want the car to stay straight and turn/ veer only when my hand makes it. Does any one have/ had a similar issue? The car never had these problems till it was lowered, Could the axles be too long now and create a pressure that would thrust the front end left or right with only minor steering input? Any way all info/ help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

tire pressure, bad bushings, improper alignement, bad brakes, bad strut mounts, all things that could cause this....check em all out and replace what you can and go from there...i would say 99% that its bad bushings, or tire pressure
