Clunking/Banging from rear shocks
Monday, October 13, 2008 5:37 PM
Ok heres my problem when I turn left or right from a street thats flat to one going slightly uphill I hear a clunking/banging from the right rear shock or left rear shock depending on which way im turning. It also does it if i hit just the right bump in the road. If i had old shocks id figure it was time for replacements but i just put on KYB AGXs with the eibach pro kit in March. I have the damper setting at 4. I also replaced the strut mounts when i did the shocks, they were monroes. I know ive heard of the strut mounts going bad after being only 3 months just because of the strain that lowering puts on them. Could this be the problem? or is it something else?

Yes, J- Strut mounts BLOW. So can last a few weeks, others can last years. Inspect it and you can tell visually if it is ok or not.

Ok well i looked and there was no shiny metal showing, the strut mounts were made of a hardened rubber/silicone type material so maybe are they just pieces of junk? I was thinking just get the ones from ht motorsports since they looked really nice, if there still being made
