How good are dropzones?

Just looking at what to replace my suspension with. I saw that dropzone lowering springs were pretty cheap. Are they any good?

Although I have no personal experience, the spring rates of the more generic, less engineered lowering springs for our car tend to be outrageously high spring rates. They probably fit fine and lower the car as advertised, but ride quality and handling will be compromised if the spring rates are too high.

I bought them a year ago and love them ..... for the money you cant beat it. I paired them with addco front and rear sways, front and rear strut bars, poly control arm bushings, custom rear tie bar, and custom k member. My car handles great! Mind you it will lower your car about 4.5"

I'm guessing you mean coilovers, not lowering springs?

Their springs will lower about 2", but from what I've heard from a couple of people who had them, the rear will sag very quickly.

late response, but dropzones are horrible, the front sits at the same height but just gets stiffer, and the rear sits way lower than the front. and mine have only been on about 2 months. i just bought some sportlines, cant wait to find some decent prices on d-specs, (hint hint)

I dont see why everyone doesnt like them.. i mean for the money they werent really that bad for me. i had the dz springs/struts for 2 years never had one problem with them. After they settled in they had a comfortable ride. yea it rides pretty low i always scrape on everything you just gotta be careful.

X2

coming from the person who disregarded anyones opinion on ebay coilovers. i think i'll choose to disregard your opinion on anything about suspensions.

they are decent for the price, dont listen to the people who have NEVER owned them, or did and could not isntall them correctly.

I have had my dropzone springs/struts on for a year now put them on with all new strut mounts, they dropped the car 2.25" all around and it looks pretty damn level, it rides good, isnt bouncy, doesnt bottom out, I never scrape anything and I have 2.5" full exhaust under there, rides good on both my ls 16" wheels and my 18"s. For the price its good, is there better sure, but ive driven in some of the more expensive setups that were bouncy as hell, these are a firm ride, but not jarring to knock your teeth out or anything. just make sure you install or have them installed right, alot of people are dumb and put the springs upside down, dont replace the strut mounts, or tourqe the bolts correctly, then blame it on the product itself. btw this is on my 2005 sedan. my 98 is stockalicious shock/strut wise.

its your choice spend less and get these now or save up some more and get the koni setup, thats the only other setup I would throw that much money at. as said above for the price there good overall setup, just if you do get them, get the whole setup the strut/spring combo, thats what i got and with new strut mounts and it works good.

WOW!!!!!! i can smell the BS coming from your entire thread.

people didnt install em correctly BECAUSE ThEY DONT COME WITh ALL ThE PARTS NECESSARY.

and for the record i had a better set of 'cheap' coilovers (skunk2) and they were complete CRAP. the car rode like it had no suspension watsoever.

right because if you never owned them you have no idea about them right?

that is the worst reply to anything. how about dont listen to people who have no clue about suspensions? in case your wondering, that includes you.

actually, yes, if you have NEVER owned them or even been in a vehicle with them installed or installed correctly then, no you have nothing to say about them good or bad.

my reply is the worst just because your the typical jbo member who likes to argue with people if its not there opinion, sounds like your attitude is one of the worst, I think he was asking for the people who ACTUALLY have real experience with the parts and others, not someone who assumes off of other peoples opinions who have also not had real experience with the parts. only thing is he asked about springs and I hope if he gets them he gets the set, btw mine came with all the parts needed for install minus the new strut mounts of course.

thats like saying "well you never had lung cancer, how do you know its bad?"

seriously, listen to yourself.

how do you know i have never owned a set, or riden in a car with them or even installed a set? assumption is the mother of all @!#$ ups
