Yes, even though they aren't the same platform its a direct swap, all GM's are the same/interchangable
just like an integra suspension fits on any honda because they are all made by honda
not totally true. the 2dr cobalts rear suspension wont be able to swap to a j-body
the rear suspension on the cobalt are different they dont have a sturt asm in the back, and i'm not to sure about the frt tho.
gad damn it
The cars have nothing in common... they are a completely different cars with completely different parts, you can't swap the wheels, the brakes, the suspension, etc. I don't know why so many morons think everything will be interchangeable because they are both Chevy's but nothing is.
There are lots of very good parts made for the car you have.

I think it's more a matter of the following:
- It's a similar sized vehicle.
- It's the Cavalier's replacement, thus the strong association
- Most people don't understand what "platform" means, or else assume the Cobalt is a J too.
- Most people assume GM would try their best to keep their parts catalog lean.
So I think it's an honest question. It just so happens that the honest answer is "no".

its a "honest question" that gets asked over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

So what you need to ask isn't why morons think the suspension could be interchangeable, but rather why they can't use the "search" button.

Does this mean I can't swap the drivetrain from a Corvette into my Cav?
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Yes, but only the ZR1. Any other model just won't work, sorry.

My question is why F would you even want that antiquted suspension hardware?
Also the difference is like the 2nd Gen J to a 3rd Gen J. Also the Cobalt and Cavalier use the same sunroof and engine.
