When the mechanic changed out some wheel studs? Before the steering wheel was perfectly positioned. Like how it came from the factory, mechanic finished now the middle parts points straight up and down, its like it moved to the side about five inches
Yea but I didn't think alignment would change just because of taking off the hub?
Take it back to the mechanic.
It wont. The only way to change the position of the steering wheel is by taking the wheel off and installing it differently, un-hooking the steering coupler and turning it during installation. Or poping the tie rod ends and threading them in on one side and out on the other. ALL of these operations DO NOT need to be done if your just changing wheel studs. I hope you didn't pay all the labor he asked for, cause he wasted some time. Not to mention if he doesn't know what he is doing and thought he had to do those things to replace wheel studs.....you got a real winner there!

You cant change the position of the steering wheel on the steering column.

x2
Yeah taking off the hub wont do it either. Somewhere in the process something was adjusted like a tie rod possibly or some sort of adjustment was made somewhere.
I believe older GM's you could remove the wheel and center it on the column, but pretty much everything if fixed. One way only.
Yea well the cars drives fine nothing different I'm not the first person he does this too haha I asked around and some guy in a honda del sol got his brakes changed and his steering wheel was moved also

Ummm....
...I'm sure he's talking about the steering wheel being slanted while driving straight. Where did you get that the steering wheel has moved on the column?
Rear my previous post.....find out which of those 3 he did, then ask for your money back.
