I put the neon brakes on my car about 2 days ago. When I first started going the rotors were jammed on the rear shields. So I spaced them off. Got rid of the grinding noise. Now I have this horrible squeak. Its only when I am going slow and its from both wheels. When i jack the car up and spin the wheels I can hear it. I know its gotta be the e-brake. I did machine out the little shoe part so that there is no "walking of the pad" on top. Any ideas?

See I have a similar problem with my fronts and I think i need to replace my slider pins.
The proper way of using the word seen. It is not I seen it that would be I saw it. He has seen the car is the right way to use the word. English class is Cool. By the way thats my sig
What exactly did you machine?

my camaro rear discs did the same thing when the caliper would hold the pads at a slight angle to the rotor, solved the problem by removing the shims that were glued to the back of the pads
this probably isn't the same though... but just in case
hmmm because I had this problem before i put new pad and rotors on and I noticed the side that squeaked was worn at an angle. Maybe I need to look into this.

Machined may be the wrong word. He's talking about grinding the shoes' actuator slot longer so the shoes rest properly on the top seats of the bracket. In my experience I think your still rubbing the rotors on the dust shield, make sure the edge of the rotor/edge of the drum brake friction surface isn't barely touching the guard still.

Worn at an angle could mean a stuck slider pin.
Fresh grease job or replace? Slider pins are pretty cheap.

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
The neon rotors are the correct 5x100 bolt pattern

The ones that I got in my kit from another member were not the correct pattern. Maybe thats the problem. Is there anyway to loosen the e-brake as well. I only have like 2 clicks before it grabs and I think that might be another problem.

On my neon rear disk swap there is an adjuster screw for the park brake shoes. Look on the inside, low, there should be a oval-shaped rubber plug. Pop that plug out and the adjuster screw should be behind there. You should be able to use a screwdriver to spin it.

Hmm. There may be a pre-tensioner up by the handle, but I don't know for sure, I've not had that end apart.
I know on the fiero there is an adjustment where the cables split off from the primary. I'll check under mine tonight and see if there isn't something to adjust there as well. It almost sounds like one or more of your cables is too short.

i am wondering what rear rotors you are running if they where not the correct lug pattern

Who did you buy this from? I have never made ANY re-drilled rotors.........you need to get the correct rotors on there bad.....I have a feeling the rotors your running might have a slightly smaller e-brake drum?!?! -Where did you get this from?

bad hub maybe?
