I have a standard Easystreet air setup on my 95 convertible. Im sure you all aware how when it all the way down the front is higher than the back. Well Im only an inch from lying K frame. Instead of moving the strut knuckle mount up the compensate has anyone tried raising the ball joints? Some friends with trucks use the replacement control arms and they have higher ball joint mounts on them to lay the larger wheels.
Easystreet uses a flat steel plate and rubber bushings for mount.
You would probably have to tub the front wheel wells. I know my stock steelies touch the tops of my wheel wells.
i just looked where my tires where rubbing and cut it out and i was tubbed in the rear as well
Yeah the tubs are coming anyways, I was looking at those pillow mounts and that would be a great was to get rid of the shifting and clunking on the easystreet mounts. Where do you buy those sockets hes using from?
Just got done getting my own "pillow" mounts made. Took my stock easystreet upper mounting plates and ordered a 1/2" ID COM bearing and had it TIG welded to my plates. Also had matching cone spacers made to bring it all together. Total out the door $41. Ill post some pics a little later.
looks nice but i hope those spacers dont get beat up and start making alot of play in there. that sound will be annoying....
the spacers wont come loose, there are held together with the nut on teh strut rod, the bottom spacer set onn the shoulder of the strut rod like the OE easystreet washer did. Just picture the cone spacers as the rubber @!#$ washers.
what im saying is that the cone spacer is probaly gonna beat itself into the bearing and then make alot of play in there. thats just my thinking of what will happen in the long run
OK made a revision, once i pumped up the bag I found that the lower spacer wasnt allowing the nylon bearing to seal on the plate. To fix that i removed the lower cone spacer and reinstalled the lower easystreet washer with the high spot trimmed off of it (what was left of it).
