What else should get upgraded(essentials) or changed after new suspension in 10 yr. old car(not including braces and bars), ie. ball joints, bushings, etc.

take a look around, its up to you. take a look at the tie rods and boots. see if there is any tears in anything or if you just want to replace the parts go head, it cant hurt anything.
anything rubber, bushings, brake hoses, balljoint and tie rod boots, etc. all those things dry rot, crack and eventually fail.

Any idea ball park figure as to cost for all that; is there brand advantage or any brand as long its polyurethane?...cash is tight now.

generally the cheaper something is the cheaper the quality. if you are just looking for stock replacement. moog is very good

Poly is a great upgrade to any stock suspension part. However, be aware that it will cause more cabin vibration than stock. The trade off is, on the other hand, that you will see a significant increase in performance of the polyurethane bushings over the very flexible stock rubber.
Here are some of the parts that I personally would recommend upgrading/replacing:
- Upper Motor Mount (poly mount AND solid mounts are available)
- Lower Dogbone Mount
- Front Transmission Mount
- Rear Transmission Mount
- Lower control arm bushing kit
- Upgrade brake lines from rubber to stainless
- Upgrade endlinks on front sway bar
- Check tie rod arms and bushings (from rack and pinion)
- Check ball joints on lower control arm
- Check endlinks on stock sway bar
- Check cv axles boots and joints for damage
- Check upper strut/shock mounts (aftermarket mounts and solid mounts are available)
- Check all vacuum line hoses and other rubber hoses for cracks/collapses/rotting rubber (especially under the MAP sensor...notorious!)
Also recommended upgrades are:
- Front and rear strut tower bars
- Upgrade front sway bar and Install rear sway bar (See my post for the Eibach Sway Bar Set in this suspension forum...can get you both of these bars brand new with poly endlinks for $265 shipped to any US location).
- Check and possibly replace worn shocks and struts (always a good idea to upgrade these...stock suspension parts are extremely soft and non-performance oriented).
- Check and possibly replace/upgrade worn springs (again, a good idea to purchase aftermarket over stock)
- Install Front K brace (available from RK Sport and from TurboTechRacing.com. The latter is highly recommended!)
- Install rear lower tie bar
Seems like a long list, but these upgrades are highly recommended to help make your j-body handle like it should have from the factory. Obviously, unless you have deep pockets (if you do...we need to get to know each other better
), you will need to budget and slowly acquire these upgrades. It will be well worth your investment.

but put in only one lower control arm bushing as other was still ok? wasnt sure if i should do other but not noticing any difference.
And thanx nate; list is what i was looking for...just finished putting in tein ss/p. coilovers and new bridgestone potenzas so I dropped a big chunk of change.
Now to let some cash build up again.
