what mount would this be?
Monday, July 13, 2009 9:31 PM
When putting it in Drive and holding the brake it rumbles, same for reverse. And it squeaks when i accelerate.

I've had a bushing replaced, and a top mount already, J's mounts must suck so much ass.

Anyone know what mount this is? And could I replace it myself to save money?

thats the stock lower mount.

i fail to see why you needed clarification on this???

hit up levelzeromotorsports.com for a full billet aluminum solid replacement and you'll never look back. and yes. its real easy to change. anyone that can turn a wrench can handle it.

i was kiddin man, I know what mount that is, thanks ill check out that site. Is it better than RK's?

better? unsure, ive used the rk for years and was very satisfied. i do have an LZM to use one day but havent yet. quality is very nice, that i can assure you.

logic dictates a completely solid mount would do more for torque transfer than one with bushings. logic (and fact) also tells us that aluminum is lighter than steel so you really cant go wrong.

you can get the lzm mount with bushings if your a panzy.

the prothane mounts are a good choice, dont let anyone tell you their not. they have been proven many times on literally hundreds of cars on here. the lzm mounts are nice if you like bling and want the absolute best option out there.. and have the big funds necessary.

however...there is more than one way to skin a cat.

thats what I thought. and considering I make $8.00 an hour and have to pay for this cars payment every month and insurance blah blah, this was the best choice.

I'm not a spoiled little teenager like most, I work for my @!#$, every bit of it.

Wow, though, it doesn't explain why it didn't do anything in park. that should have made a mess in any gear.

from what I know with auto's, you will sometimes still get vibrations with the poly bushings.

it does make sense if it is only in drive or reverse, and not neutral because the tranny isn't trying to do anything, so the motor just spins free, but once in gear, it kinda sits there waiting to go.(that is how I see if anywho)>

I havea 5 speed and I get some vibes if RPM's are too low taking off from a stop, or if too low for whatever gear I am in.

good luck

Im about to go do this today (replace my lower) with a solid dog bone I got from TTR, I heard I don't need to support anything..correct?

Just unbolt and work the new one in and bolt in, right? Just want to double check.

that was the easiest thing I've done in my whole life, lol.

I still need to put the upper mount insert in, is this http://www.energysuspension.com/forum/index.php?topic=85.0%3Bprev_next=prev the only DIY for doing that?

And who out there has done it, I don't have alot of experience with cars and mounts, how difficult is this?

I should have had you in the turbo car at the bash. The solid LZM lower is nice, but you have no idea about the vibrations it causes. I am pretty sure its the reason we are getting so much knock. The car is only running 11* of total timing!!! But the engine doesnt move lol.
