I've been doin some searching and all but i can't seem to figure what would be the best setup ( not too expensive either) for a 99 sunfire, i also wanna get it to sit pretty low
im on CMS springs with stock struts and the ride is pretty horrible but the drop is very nice
.. any ideas would be appreciated
If all you want is a drop, then this is the magical combination:
1. Koni Sport (aka: Red's) adjustable struts if you can find them, or Koni Special (aka: Yellow's) adjustable struts.
2. Eibach Sportline lowering springs
If the struts are too expensive for your budget, another alternative are the KYB AGX adjustable struts, I think those a slightly cheaper.

koni sports are not 'reds' they are adjustable the same exact way yellows are, on top. they are yellows.
Every time I scream "Release", I mean it, you know it. I feel the day. Black 7.
You might also consider road magnet springs with koni or tokico dspec struts.
Road magnets are allegedly more comfortable than the sportlines and about the same drop and price.
This is another vote for Koni Yellows (reds are no longer in manufacture -- Yellow=Koni Sports, Red=Koni Specials) with a good name brand spring.
AGX are good bot from what I've read/seen, not designed to go as low as the Konis.
Tein's coilover kit is another good option but that's $$.
But then again, as you've already found out, going cheap sucks.
BTW. Koni sells a "sport kit" that comes with springs, by the time it gets all broken in it's right at a 2" drop. Ride is firm to stiff (depending on strut settings) and handles really nice.
~800 these days I think. (My setup on my old car.)

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
I'm on the Koni sport kit, and I love it, unfortunately it just isn't low enough for my tastes, so I'm switching to something different in the next 6 months or so.
^^^ buy sportlines. they are the @!#$.
