Brake question
Tuesday, August 25, 2009 3:54 AM
OK, so I changed the front rotors and pads on my 2004 Cavy. I put Duralast Gold semi-metallic pads (I do alot of hard driving). I did everything correctly. Now my pedal is really soft. The car still stops fine but the pedal is extremely soft. it has pressure. i checked the fluid. thats fine. i bled them. no change. any ideas on how to get my pedal to go back to normal?

When you first changed the pads, did you do any bleeding? Or did you just change the pads and did nothing else?

How did you press the pistons back in... grip them in channel-locks and see how hard you can squeeze or slowly press them back in with a c-clamp or pad spreader? Pushing them back in too fast damages the seals in the master cylinder.
