Monday, August 31, 2009 10:01 PM
hey guys, i got an 02 4 door z24 that i wanna drop....i dont need a crazy drop or anything, so im looking at goldline springs and a set of struts (dont know whichones yet) and theres gonna be a big sound system in the trunk of the car aswell...so im looking for a good match for the goldlines that will give me a decent ride....also if there anyone who has a a better combo for my car i would like the help....

ive actually never heard anything bad about goldline springs. your best bet with a strut choice would be Tokico D-specs if you're looking for a straight up bolt in piece, or if you want a little better quality strut, go with Koni Yellow inserts. they take a bit more work, and they can be a bit more expensive, but ive heard theyre well worth it.

I know a guy that ran the goldlines on his neon, he said they held up ok but found them sag a little after a while (but thats on a different car and on stock struts). Pro-kit and AGX's seem to be a pretty popular setup. I'm running them and like them, but I may be seeing a little leakage from the front struts, but its hard to tell cause of all the rain we have had lately. But they have lifetime warranty if I remember correctly.

go with either KYB AGX's and Eibach Pro-Kit

or Tokico D-Specs and Eibach SportLines

yes those are 2 tried and true setups, but those aren't the only 2 springs available on the planet. goldlines are (from what i can find) a 1.75 drop all around, which would keep that slight factory rake these cars have to them, while still getting the car as low as sportlines. if he wants to keep the rake and go that low, its probably not a bad choice. sportlines drop more in the rear, kind of leveling off the rake and theyre greatly more expensive (although i do not suggest cheaping out on suspension products). and pro kits may not be low enough for his liking. they werent for me another good spring choice that'll get lower than sportlines would be Roadmagnets 2.2" drop all around. very very low, many people like em, but again, they aren't cheap.
