I got a 97 Z im working on right now. It has the HO cams in it. I have everything required for the 2.3 power steering swap, but it doesnt seem to wanna click into my head on how it hooks up. Nothing seems to wanna fit.
Anybody have any pics of the swap?
Thanx
PS - yes I searched...
Well after atleast 5 hours trying to make this work, i still cant.
It seems like the only way to make this fit is to grind away part of the egr port in the head, which I DONT want to do.
Has anybody done this with a 2.4 head or were they all done with the 2.3 head?
I think there is a little grinding that is needed on the head, at least that's what i heard. I haven't swapped in the 2.3 ps personally. Wish i could help more...
GM sold a smaller 2.3 p/s pulley. I know the GM p/n was posted over on quad4forums. I searched, and couldn't find it.

luke made a custom bracket for his to work. and in the end he said it just hits the hood anyway.
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
If you have a 2.4L head, there is no way to get a 2.3L pump to fit correctly. It sits up way too high. As z yaaa said, I had a custom bracket CNC'd to make it sit as low as possible. The problem is that the belt hits the side of the 2.4L head. I took the grinder to the head and took off as much as I could, but it just wasn't enough to get the pump to sit low enough. The reservoir tank is too high. I can get my hood closed, but it rubs pretty good. Then you've got the issue trying to get the belt tight enough to where it won't squeal when the fluid is cold. I'm going to end up just getting my intake cam tower bored out for the larger lifters and put the 2.4L p/s pump back on.

ugh l think lm just gonna end up parting my car out then lm getting tired of always running into headaches and problems with this thing....
If I gave up with every custom mod I've done to the Cavy, I wouldn't have a Cavy to mod.
Giving up is not the way to go.
Good luck though with your car.
